The Review:
Data Sources: : Cochrane Library,
The studies were multiple independent reviews of individual reports. They were tested for heterogeneity.

Comments:
La raccomandazione di SIGN (2): "Routine use of drugs to limit neural damage, including corticosteroids...is no proven benefit and should be discouraged."
Alderson & Roberts (4) riportano come:"...Galicich and French reported rapidly improvement in response to corticosteroids in 28 of 34 people with cerebral oedema either due to brain tumors or postoperative. This led to their use in other intracranial problems characterised by raised intracranial pressure." Anche nella loro revisione sull'uso di steroidi nel trauma cranico, devono concludere che: "Neither moderate benefits nor moderate harmful effects of steroids can be excluded..."
