Memory of My Mother

The Most Wonderful Woman In The World
I love you Mom. "You are safe in my heart, and my heart will go on and on."

God saw you getting
tired, and a cure was not to be,
so he put his
arms around you, and whispered, "come with me".
We had to
watch you suffer, and we saw you fade away,
although we loved
you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden
heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
God broke our
hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
It's lonesome
here without you, We miss you more each day.
Life doesn't
seem the same to us, since you've gone away.
When days
are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong,
we seem to hear
you whisper, "Cheer up - carry on."
Each time we see
your picture, you seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm
in God's keeping, we'll meet again some day."

Parable of Immortality
I am standing
upon the seashore. A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at
my side says, "There she goes!" Gone where? Gone from my sight- that is
all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she
left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the
places of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the
moment when someone at my side says, "there she goes!", there are other
eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,
"Here she comes!"
