Is this a beautiful dog, or what!!

JAKE, GET DOWN OFF THAT SOFA!! That's my "big moose" always has to have the best view of everything. If you look close, you can see the hole he chewed on the right side of the left back cushion.....I love that hole!
(smile*sob*smile)

Master Jakob Dane (Jake) left us on New Year's Eve. He was the best dog we've ever had the privilege to have love us. He was always happy, always wagging his tail, and kissed everyone he met. I called him my Big Moose! Oh, and my "pee-buddy" because there wasn't a time that I went to the "ladies room" that Jake didn't come along. He loved the kids and they loved him....all the children's friends loved Jake. All Bob had to do was look at Jake and yell "MAD DOG, MAD DOG" and Jake would attack. They rolled on the floor and sometimes on our bed for what seemed like forever...I'm surprised my bed hasn't caved in yet. Once Bob was chasing Jake around our big square coffee table....round and round they went in spite of my "requests" to stop before someone got hurt, when suddenly Bob had this bright idea that he could "cut across" the table....well, unfortunately Bob's legs weren't quite long enough to reach the floor after spanning the top of the table, but he had already made the "jump" to get to the other side and Bob was "stuck" with one calf on one side of the table and the other calf on the other side....He was suspended above the table and couldn't reach the table with his hands to get down....I thought I was going to just die. I think Jake wanted to laugh too....I just calmly looked at Bob and said, "If you'll behave, I'll help you get down!" God, I wish I had taken a picture first, but bless his heart, he was in pain....hehehehe!!

We didn't have enough time with our Jake. He had just had his first birthday two weeks before God took him home. We will miss him terribly.

Jake had some real strange sleeping habits....this picture will prove that!! He was a mess, wasn't he?

We all feel a great loss right now. Jake was like one of our children. Of course we will soon have Jake's pups, as Mattie, our brindle great dane was in "love" with Jake too....

You will see that they had quite a bit of fun together too....

These next three pictures will show you that Jake got what he wanted, but with much patience.....I think he learned that from me! (Grin)

In this picture, although you can't see it, Mattie has a green ball, and Jake wants it. See how patient he is? Or is he simply plotting out his plan of attack?

In this picture, Jake gets his foot in the game. Or are they playing footsie?

The tug-of-war begins......Mattie says it's her ball and Jake says it his.

Well, well, well.....Look who has the ball now! (You get'em Jake)

Awwwwwwwwww, did we both get tuckered out? Hmmmm, wonder where I can sit!

You know, when something like this happens, you always have regrets.....I learn from those regrets. I wish I had taken more pictures of Jake with the kids, our granddaughter, and with Bob and I. I do have a picture of Jake and my foot though! *(smile)* This is the infamous recliner.....Can you imagine sitting here and have Jake actually climb up with you, turn around, and take a seat.....better move those legs fast, cuz he's not listening!! Oh, and once he's seated, don't forget to give him his back massage.

Isn't he just the greatest looking dog in the world?

Master Jakob Dane, you have filled our lives with such joy. We will miss you more than words could ever say. You brought such energy into our family, along with alot of fun. I write this in blue because you are a blue ribbon winner although you have never competed. We will love you forever, and you will never be forgotten. Forever in our hearts........Love, Jami, Bob, Kenna, Jamison, Melissa, Brianna, and the love of your life, Ms. Madeline Dane. Mattie misses you terribly but she will go on with memories of you and will have your children to help her through....To you, dear Jake, we pin on you the blue ribbon....You are a winner!
