To My Page of
Internet Friends

I
thought the next page I did should be just for fun so I
chose to introduce you to some of my internet friends.

Cobra_DD: I met Cobra early in the
morning two years ago while playing spades in the game
zone. During this time I have come to really appreciate
his wonderful sense of humor. He teases me constantly. We
are often asked, "Are you two married?" His
reply is, "yes, we are" and mine is, "but,
not to each other". When I used to get particularly
frustrated with trying to do something on the computer,
Cobra was there with his "don't worry, hon, I'll
stay until we get it done". He and his lovely wife,
Karen, live in what I call the Wilds of Canada. He hunts
moose, deer, boar, and pheasant, and raises his own trout
in a pond which is kind of in his backyard (if you can
call it that). His friend Phillip aka putzflop created
the beautiful Cobra 52 jpg seen below. Please do not take
it from my page.

Handeman: I met Handeman in the
game zone as well. He is always ready to lend a hand,
share files, and is a great source of information. Hande
has also helped me through some downloads and is there
with a kind word in time of need. I really appreciated
him while we were in Atlanta and Joe was receiving
radiation treatments every day. Hande was a faithful
friend during that time, and it made the going easier. I
will never forget his cheerful hello's and his
willingness to lend an ear or a shoulder when it was
needed. Hande has a home page, which is a tribute to his
youngest son. I had the opportunity to meet Handeman in
June of 1998. His wife is really into ceramics and my
ceramic frogs (which she made for me) are happily living
among the plants on my patio.

Cajundoll: aka,Linda: One evening I
wandered into the zone and Hande invited me to play
spades. This is when I met Linda. I now have had the
pleasure of meeting Linda on three occasions in real
life. Linda is a delightful person who has taught me a
lot about mIRC and spurred me into starting these home
pages. In my guest book she says she is glad she had a
bit of a hand in getting me started, but if truth be
known, she had more than just a bit of a hand; her
encouragement kept me going, and it is getting easier.
Linda's Home Page is the first personal page I ever saw
and it is just lovely. Her page to her sister is really
special. I am so glad Linda is my freind. The big news is
that Linda married LJ on Friday, the 13th of November,
1998. Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Bride and
Groom.

Whiskey2: Whiskey is another game
zone acquaintance. We were partners on the Queen of
Spades Ladder. Whiskey gave me a few lessons over the
internet in learning how to start doing a home page. I am
really grateful to him for helping me out. Whiskey, his
wife, Lisa, and their two children hail from Louisiana.

Ms
Thump:
I met Thumper while playing spades as well, but I never
got to know her until I started going to #40+Soda_Shoppe
in mIRC. She is there almost every day while the rest of
us drink our morning coffee. Thumper, I am finding, is
usually the first person in Soda_Shoppe, always with a
cheerful "Come join me, the Shoppe is open for
business". I have met Thumper in real life as
well.Linda is trying to talk Thumper has a wonderful
sense of humor, and I am proud to be able to call her,
Friend. I didn't want to forget Killer, MsThump's dog so
the one below is fairly close in looks.

Soda: I first met Soda in the
game zone playing spades. It was right around the time
her husband, Sman, got her a new computer
for her birthday. She is a diehard fan of the Denver
Broncos. She has waited a long time, and her team has won
a National Championship. Soda's home page is just
gorgeous: check out her Denver Broncos Page. This is one
of her backgrounds on this page. (My favorite flowers are
roses, and my favorite color is pink.) You can see her collection of backgrounds on her home page. Soda
lives in Idaho. She says she only has two Seasons: Winter
and Summer. She loves cats and has three of them, and
that is why I chose the animated gif below.

Mismia: I met Mia in the game
zone as well. Mia shares pages and pages of good jokes
with her friends, and she is always so cheerful and fun
to be around. She plays golf, and anyone who can even hit
a golf ball is to be admired in my book. I have also had
the pleasure of meeting Mia in real life, and she is just
as much fun in real life as she is on the computer. Mia
and I are addicted to the Spades Ladder and frequently
that is where you will find us. Mia and Harry live part
time in North Carolina and part time in Florida.

Dobbin: I know Dobbin best from
mIRC, and #40+Soda_Shoppe, or from her channel,
#40+dobbin's_den. Dobbin, I have found, will ask just
about anything of anybody. I miss her when she isn't on
the channel for just that reason. Dobbin also delights in
winning at spades in the game zone, and last I heard she
was threatening to find some better players. (She thinks
she is unbeatable, rofl.) Dobbin loves horses, and has
several, and is frequently gone "rodeo-ing". I
am glad I have gotten to know Dobbin better, and have met
her in real life as well.

^Duke: Duke is another friend I
know from Soda Shoppe. Sometimes he is so quiet I forget
he is there, and I ask him to check and make sure he is
still breathing. Duke has allowed Soda to publish some of
his poetry on her poetry page and I think he is quite
talented. He told me that he likes to write. Duke has his
own channel on mIRC, but I rarely find him there. I think
he has a wonderful sense of humor, too, and when you can
get him going he livens up the conversation. Duke just
became the Grandpa of a bouncing baby girl. Bet she is
just gorgeous and was probably the prettiest baby in the
nursery.

Suha: Suha is my friend from
Istanbul, Turkey. We met while playing backgammon and
have continued the acquaintance. Suha has a wonderfully
informative home page which contains links to sites
pertaining to Turkey ( I especially like his choices of
music). One of his hobbies is photography, and his
pictures of Turkey are worth the visit. I don't get to
see much of him because of the time difference. If you
visit his home page check out the link to Ataturk. The
story of Ataturk's life and accomplishments is indeed
interesting.

Jossie: Jossie is my cyber sis
from Kiwi land. She and her husband Stew reside in New
Zealand with their two sons. I met Jossie in the game
zone (where else??) while playing in a whacky spades
tournament. Over the past few months we have become
rather good friends, and she is teaching me some of the
lingo. Jossie's real name is also, Joy, just like mine.
Since I have never had a sister (just four brothers), and
Jossie wanted a sister as well, we decided to adopt each
other. The arrangement has been working out beautifully,
and I love having a sister after all these years. Jossie
just acquired a new job, and she has been working around
60 hours every week so we don't get to chat very much
these days. But, just knowing that we have each other is
a comfort. Below, I have typed some exerpts from a poem
by Carey Martin that Jossie sent to me.
A sister is someone more
special than words. She's love mixed with friendship; the
best things in life.
A sister is one of the most
precious people in the story of your life. And you'll
always be together, whether you're near or apart.
What is a sister? She is
someone more special than words: someone beautiful and
unique. And in so many ways, there is no one who is loved
so dearly.

Sara456:
Sara
is my newest acquaintance on the internet. Does anyone
have to ask where we met? Sara has been a delightful
friend and we chat, play cards, and enjoy each others
company. Sara talked me into joining another ladder, and
I am really enjoying the individual playing in addition
to the team playing. Sara made Strawberry Margaritas for
us last night; of course I will have to take a rain check
on mine, since we can't figure out how to Email them from
her house to mine. Sara is always there with a *smile*
and a word of encouragement. Glad we met, Sarah.

Krystle: I met Krystle via her
Aunt. Krystle is my teenage friend from Canada. I think
she has a good head on her shoulders and I have enjoyed
talking and chatting with her over the last year or so.
She likes to draw Angels, and has promised to do one just
for me. Krystle is really excited right now because one
of her friends from Australia is coming to visit, and she
will get to meet him in real life. Krystle had started a
home page, but so far I haven't gotten to see it; she got
busy at school, and hasn't been able to work on it very
much. Love ya, Krystle. Krystle has asked me to put a
poem she wrote for her Uncle on my page. I thought it
deserved a page of its own. You may view this page by
clicking onKrystle's name.
