"Dixie"......The very word opens a floodgate of memories. Sultry summer days, picking the sweetly perfumed bloom from the mimosa tree in our front yard. Games of hide and seek, hopscotch, and childhood innocence. The weeping willow tree branches rippling in the wind as a summer storm blew in.

The reds and golds of autumn, burning leaves, and the mischeviousness of Halloween knowing that Santa was soon to follow.Cold and frosty winter days, the stark coldness of the days being pierced by our shrill screams as we sledded down the hill at the church on the corner. Looking out the windows and seeing the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains capped in snow.

High School Pep Rally's where the band played "Dixie", stirring up our spirit and support for our "Patriots" The land of my birth - A place that holds many warm memories. Dixie, I will always love you!
