Part 1 -
The
sun was bright and merry as Tetsu walked down the narrow
street in Japan. He was happy and he gave a great sigh of
joy as he walked. Tetsu was out doing his shopping, but
there seemed to be something in the air that told him today
was good. Just weeks earlier he had got his own flat, he
still couldn't believe his parents had allowed him to. They
hadn't liked the idea of him wanting to form a band, but
there wasn't any way that they could have stopped him.
In
his heart Tetsu knew he was doing the right thing. He passed
a little art shop, he went up to the window and started
to sort his dark brown hair out. It had blonde streaks in
it and Tetsu ? and everyone else ? thought it suited him
greatly.
Suddenly
he had the feeling of being watched, and his eyes flitted
to the contents of the shop window. Two women were staring
at him, one woman was giggling soundlessly and she seemed
to think he was very funny ? she looked older than the next
woman. Then again, you could hardly call the other a woman,
she was more like an angel, a little angel. She was shorter
than the other woman and looked younger. Her long hair was
tied loosely at her back and a few wavy strands had come
loose and had fallen to perfectly frame her face. Her dark
brown eyes looked mysterious and delicate and the long white
dress she wore seemed to make her float. Tetsu?s breath
was taken away as he looked at the girl. His heart was beating
fast, his hand dropped to his side as he realised that he
was gaping at the girl. She smiled at him cautiously as
the woman dragged her away by the arm.
Tetsu
shook his head and one thought drifted into his mind ? quickly
followed by another.
I
have to see her again, I have to.? He ran a hand through
his hair and blinked. ?Don?t be stupid Tetsu, she doesn?t
like you. She was just being polite when she smiled at you.
Just teasing you. Besides, you aren?t going to see her again.
Nu-uhh.? He thought, frowning Tetsu grabbed his bag that
he had set down on the dusty street he hurried to the market.

(inside
the art shop)
Oh
my! Look Haido!? his mother exclaimed. She pointed to a
man outside the window. Hyde looked up from the book he
was reading.
Hmmm?
Wha-? Hyde?s words stopped abruptly as he saw the man. He
was so perfect! His face was beautiful. Hyde?s voice was
caught in his throat as he felt a smile forming slowly on
his lips. His mother was giggling profusely and she sighed
quietly as Hyde?s smile was beginning to widen. The man
looked so perfect, true ? he couldn?t just fall in love
with a click of his fingers ? but for this man it seemed
he could make an exception.
Come
on Haido! You?ll be late! Can?t be late on your first day!
Did you have to wear that? Why not the dress I bought you?.?
Hyde?s mother was holding him by the arm as he tried to
catch another glimpse of the man. She was lecturing him
on how he looked like a girl so much as they walked out
of the little shop.
Hyde
and his mother arrived at the little restaurant in the middle
of the market five minutes late.
Mum,
you didn?t have to walk me here. I could have on my own.?
Hyde said, embarrassed. He was old enough to tie his own
shoelases now, and in Hyde?s books that meant he could walk
to his new job place on his own. Even though he had got
his own place now she still liked to come by and bother
him by going out and shopping. She had taken him to the
art shop he loved just to make him happy. It had definitely
worked. A picture of the young man in the window flickered
into his thoughts, it stayed there while his mother was
talking to him and eyeing his eye make-up un-approvingly.
Now,
just because you live on your own now that doesn?t mean
I won?t be stopping by again tomorrow. Right then, I?ll
be off now. Just remember that you can?t do anything they
don?t tell you too. Okay?? She asked, her worried eyes viewing
her made-up son.
Yes,
mother.? Hyde droned automatically, the vision of the man
still clear in his mind. Smiling happily as his mother walked
away he stepped into the little restaurant.
