GUN CONTROL:
The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

JULY 9th was "BUY" A GUN DAY
The United Nations Conference on Small Weapons is sponsoring massive gun  burnings on July 9 to mark the opening in New York of the UN Conference on Illicit Trade  in Small Arms and Light Weapons. Organizers of the Conference say "the public  destruction of weapons" is good because it "is one of the best ways to attract attention"  to global civilian disarmament.
So, in response,  July 9 has  been officially declared  to be "National Firearm Purchase Day!"

Got a Question you need answered by the C.F.C.?
Don't hold your breath!  It looks like FAQ 'still'  means "Federally Abandoned Questions"
If you have called the C.F.C. with a question , you no doubt got a different answer from every bureaucrat you spoke to. This 'variation in answers' has become somewhat of a joke among firearms owners. No wonder they won't update the FAQ page, they obviously can't decide WHICH answer given by WHICH bureaucrat is correct, and they'll be dammed if there going commit to anything, and put it in writing!Got A Comment On This Story?
Attempted murder suspect killed by police
And The "Culture of Safety" Continues.
A man wanted for attempted murder was shot and killed by police yesterday afternoon outside a crowded Tim Hortons Doughnut Shop parking lot in Bradford, a small town north of Toronto. According to reports, the man had been wanted by police in connection with the shooting of a 39-year-old Bradford man outside a bar on Saturday morning. The original victim was shot during an argument outside the Trophy Case Tavern. He remains in critical condition. (If this fellow has already shot someone, the police (and anyone else) would have every right to defend themselves when the  suspect is seen suddenly reaching into a bag for 'something'. Particularly someone dumb enough to try and avoid the police by heading for a doughnut shop..duh!..Got A Comment On This Story?

Fantino targets guns
TORONTO -- Despite Canada's gun-control laws, shooting deaths are becoming commonplace in a city once considered safe. Jim Hinter, president of the National Firearms Association in Calgary, wants to see more police officers on the streets and fewer people dealing with the  bureaucracy created by the government's 1995 gun registration law. Hinter and most gun-ownership advocates contend the gun registration law targets law-abiding citizens. He said Ottawa has wasted millions of dollars on making them register their firearms. Criminals, he said, don't bother to register their guns. (The BILLION Dollars wasted (so far) by the Liberals on c-68 could have given over 1000 Police Officers a 20 years career arresting REAL Criminals, instead of 'creating' over a million new 'paper' criminals out of law abiding Canadian citizens)Got A Comment On This Story?
Toronto Gun deaths a crisis: Fantino
Mel Lastman, the Mayor, said he plans to talk to Chief Fantino about the city's escalating gun  problem, but does not know what can be done. "I hate guns. I'd love to see guns completely banned, I don't know how you do it because how do you keep them out of the hands of  thugs?" the Mayor said.( Howard Moscoe, The Councillor of the Crime ridden Toronto area, said "Sportsmen be dammed..Something Has to be done about Guns".. What a TOTAL DUMBASS.. What the hell is persecuting 'sportsmen' have to do with the fact that gang bangers and punks are shooting each other in Toronto. Mayor Mel would like to see guns totally BANNED.. Yup Mel.. I'm sure all the gang bangers will show up in DROVES to hand in their illegal guns and comply with a complete ban, just as they have in Washington D.C (Murder City U.S.A.)..Howard! Self-defense can't be restricted
The right of self-defense cannot be abridged. It cannot be restricted or prohibited. This right has been granted to every living thing by a higher authority than man. Unfortunately, some of the picaroons who have
entrenched themselves in government are  attempting to do just that. They keep passing laws restricting and/or prohibiting law-abiding persons from legally purchasing the arms and/or ammunition needed to protect home or person.(In Canada, we ALSO have the RIGHT to security of 'person' regardless of what the Liberals think while promoting 'The New Canadian Order" and their C-68 'People Control' law)Got A Comment On This Story?
Law-abiding criminals
According to gun control opponents, the compliance rate in Alberta is about 40%
No one would ever have believed that one day Ross Webley would be a criminal in need of a pseudonym. In fact, he has been a well-respected constable with the Calgary police since 1980. But on Canada Day, the avid
gun collector and sports shooter, who owns a number of 12-gauge shotguns and a few old German Luger Handguns his father brought back from the Second World War, became one of thousands of Canadians in violation of gun control laws. He has never applied for a firearm licence under the Liberals' Bill C-68. If charged, he could face up to 10 years in prison-- the penalty for unauthorized possession of a firearm--and lose his career. (The actual number of new Canadian Criminal created by C-68 is more than a million. He has LOTS of company)Got A Comment On This Story?
Board defends charging student after teacher hit by water balloon
Mr. Copeland said some judges are growing frustrated with what he called the "everybody gets charged" approach. "A lot of them get a little fed up with some of the garbage that comes before them." While he was not familiar with the London case, he said that technically, hitting a person with a water balloon may be an assault with a weapon. "But it's bizarre that anyone would bother laying a charge."Also See:Soaker hooligan( If I had been charged for some of the stupid things I did as a teenager, I might still be in prison today!! I doubt very much that this kid threw the balloon with the intent to injure the teacher. Study says fewer deaths caused by medical errors
Two years ago, a scathing report  from the Institute of Medicine said medical mistakes in hospitals kill up to 98,000..Published in Wednesday's Journal of the American Medical Association , the study now says the number of deaths caused by medical error is more like 5,000 to 15,000. (Whew...Thats a relief!! NOW, its confirmed...Doctors only kill 10 times as many people as accidents with firearms. I guess that's why malpractice insurance is astronomical compared to the 4 bucks a year I pay for $millions of dollars worth of liability insurance in case I accidentally injure someone with my firearm. When Kmart Costs Lives
The fear over public-school shootings is legitimate, but Kmart's response, even if it is motivated by those attacks, is not. Since the shootings started in the fall of 1997, 32  students and 3 teachers have been killed in any type of shooting at elementary or secondary schools, an annual rate  of 1 death per 4 million students. This includes deaths from gang fights, robberies, accidents, as well as attacks such as the one at Columbine. By contrast, during that same period, 53 students died playing high-school football. Is Kmart's next  response to not sell any sports equipment? (Kmart 'and their underwear' left Ontario years ago. I for one don't miss them. Telegraph, a new study published by the Center for Defense Studies at King's College in London today proves, once again, that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have them.  If criminals can always get a gun – and it's obvious they  can – then what sense does it make to continue to pass laws prohibiting law-abiding persons from having one? What kind of sadistic moron would favor such a concept? (Well Gee... Canadian Liberals are moronic enough to believe, that by making it difficult for Law Abiding Citizens to own a firearm, the criminals will face the same kind of difficulty, and subsequently the world will be a safer place. A previous statement by Canada:
" Furthermore, Canada considers that the title of the resolution, "Small arms", defines the scope of the conference in terms of weapons covered. In this context, Canada notes that small arms were defined in the report of the Panel of  Governmental Experts (A/52/298, annex) as being those weapons not covered by the United Nations Register of  Conventional Weapons but those which are manufactured to military specifications for use as lethal instruments of  war. Accordingly, it is Canada's view that the conference should focus on small arms that are manufactured to military specifications to perform a military function."(they have since, seemed to have broadened their scope somewhat)
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: John R. Bolton  U.S. Statement at Plenary Session  Under Secretary of State for   Arms Control and International Security Affairs
"Small arms and light weapons, in our understanding, are the strictly military arms -- automatic rifles, machine guns, shoulder-fired missile and rocket systems, light mortars -- that are contributing to continued violence and suffering in regions of conflict around the world. We separate these military arms from firearms such as hunting rifles and pistols, which are commonly owned and used by citizens in many countries. As U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft has said, "just as the First and Fourth Amendments secure individual rights of speech and security respectively, the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms." The United States believes that the responsible use of firearms is a legitimate aspect of national life. Like many countries, the United States has a cultural tradition of hunting and sport shooting. We, therefore, do not begin with the presumption that all small arms and light weapons are the same or that they are all problematic. It is the illicit trade in military small arms and light weapons that we are gathered here to address and that should properly concern us. "(You know, Its really unfortunate that "Canada" is being represented by a bunch of sheep, and once again we have to rely on the U.S. to stand up for hunters and sportsmen.)Got A Comment On This Story?

Coyotes Attack ANOTHER Child
here are renewed calls to control urban coyotes after a  Vancouver mother looked up from gardening in her front yard to see a coyote biting the face of her one-year-old daughter and shaking the child from side to side. This is the second attack on a child in the area this month and the seventh incident in the past year. Reports of coyote attacks on pets are also increasing. (Coyotes are general pest in most places, and until they are at a 'manageable' level, there should be a bounty. Preventing them from ravaging a chicken coop is one thing. But now having to guard the backyard playpen against these 'Rats' of the forest, is another matter altogether Coyotes should be considered a threat to people and animals anywhere on your property, and promptly shot.)Got A Comment On This Story?
Is the Auditor General Going to Wait until the Gun Registry Wastes Millions More?
This is the answer to Garry Breitkreuz's letter urging a immediate audit on the registry.
What the hell, why NOT wait until 2003. The registry is ONLY 1200% over budget and missing 60% of the guns and owners in Canada. Most of the gun owners in Canada are paper criminals now anyway. Registering  will only result in self-incrimination.. Well HELL.. You might as well walk into the nearest doughnut shop and just give yourself up!Got A Comment On This Story?
Gun battles kill 20 in Jamaica
The violence erupted between security forces and residents of a poor neighbourhood in Kingston. The fighting broke out after a police raid for illegal weapons in an area that has seen escalating gun violence in recent months. (How can this be? Jamaican Gun Control is not working? Now THAT'S hard to believe. After all, their Liberals said 'Trust us' Gun Control is the Answer to Crime! Citizens of  Jamaica had their guns confiscated several years ago in their own version of C-68. This certainly seems to be ANOTHER Gun Control "Phenomenal Success")Got A Comment On This Story?
Nunavut community declares grizzly emergency
BAKER LAKE, NUNAVUT - The hamlet of Baker Lake in Nunavut, has declared a temporary
state of emergency because of an unusually  high number of grizzly bears, And the grizzlies are getting closer to the community.  One bear has been killed in self-defence. (Well Gee! Maybe all the nice folks that promote bears as cute cuddly little playmates for their children can help with this problem. Their ALL just Winnie the poohs anyway Eh?)Got A Comment On This Story?
Libya is a good place to do business: Ottawa
OTTAWA - The Canadian government is actively promoting  investment in Libya a little more than two weeks after granting formal diplomatic recognition to a country the United States still considers a sponsor of terrorism. (Ya it figures! The Liberal will always promote another 'one' party government. I'm sure I wouldn't want to get on a plane heading To or From Libya. But hey, its just a medical problem! My Doctor tells me that falling aircraft, bullets and random explosions will ruin my health .Got A Comment On This Story?
Kids, condoms, and guns
(The proliferation of  "Keep em Ignorant, Keep em Safe" is rampant)
If you teach a child how to use a condom, you're promoting safety - not usage. Why, then, doesn't the same logic apply to guns? Got A Comment On This Story?
U.N. Summit for Worldwide Gun Control Begins
Bogotá, Colombia – The United Nations this past week has been disavowing claims by critics that the upcoming U.N. Summit on Small Arms is the first step in an effort at worldwide registration and arms control, but news from here in Colombia would seem to indicate otherwise. (Gun control 'in' Columbia has not worked any better than any other place on the planet. So, the obvious solution? Head up a United Nations Gathering of leaders who want World Control, and Ban guns from the whole planet.. Ya, that'll work!!! Look up in the sky...Its a Bird.. A Plane...Naw!! It's a Pig..Got A Comment On This Story?
July 9th U.N. gun burning just the beginning
On June 22, a new International Convention on  Cyber-crime was readied for ratification by participating
nations – including the United States. This treaty will  require participating nations to adopt "harmonized" laws  that will compel ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to collect information and data from their subscribers, without notification, and supply that information to "competent authorities." (AND, we all know, the world is simply crawling with "competent authorities" that want more and more of your personal information without the entanglement of stupid things like warrants, and rights to personal privacy) Got A Comment On This Story?
The United Nations is NOW Protecting Kidnappers, Murderers, and Terrorists.
The world body now admits it withheld from the Israelis a videotape shot by a member of the UN's 5,660-strong peacekeeping force the day after the kidnapping, showing two vehicles used by the guerrillas and several presumed members of Hezbollah, who may be the kidnappers themselves. After initially denying the tape existed, the UN will now hand it over  to Israel. But it will blur the faces of the presumed guerrillas, making their identification impossible.(This is the SAME group that wants your guns destroyed. Ya, Lets trust THEM to run the world.)Got A Comment On This Story?
The lawbreakers
Now that an estimated 300,000 Canadian gun owners have ignored the federal firearms registry, this couplet
ceases to summarize the meek acceptance of authority which Canadians believe is part of their national
character. Whatever motivated Ottawa to pass this pernicious legislation, we are sure it was not an honest belief that it would reduce crime. Their casual attitude to the bungling of the register betrays that. (The 300,000 is a Government estimate. The REAL numbers are in the Millions. Remember , There are at least 14,000,000 "Vapour Arms" in Canada they have simply 'Vanished' between the first and last of the three Government firearms polls. All to make the numbers fit the Liberal propaganda)Got A Comment On This Story?
Police worried by spate of killings in downtown area
Superintendent Ron Taverner said he is shocked by "the level of violence that has taken place,
the number of weapons on the streets, the whole drug trafficking problem."(Obviously C-68 and the persecution of law abiding hunters and target shooters has been a "phenomenal Success" at generating the "Culture of Safety" touted by the Liberals, while defending the obscene waste of a Billion Dollars that 'could' have been spent combating REAL crime.)Got A Comment On This Story?
Bernhard Goetz, the New York City Vigilante is running for Mayor
On Dec. 22, 1984, he shot and injured four black teenagers -- one of whom was carrying a screwdriver -- who "asked"(?)  him for five dollars on a downtown train. The incident riveted and rattled the city in equal measure. Some hailed the mysterious shooter as a hero cleaning up a frightened city. Others were appalled at the violence against black youth. In 1987, a Manhattan jury acquitted Mr. Goetz of attempted murder charges -- accepting it was self-defence -- but convicted him on weapons charges. (For Several weeks, the very thought that if you tried to mug someone you might get shot, caused the crime rate in New York City to 'Plummet' to an all time low. At least until Goetz was caught....Go Figure...)Got A Comment On This Story?
Doctors demand more high-tech cancer scanners
The report has doctors demanding that more PET scanners -- the best tool for catching certain cancers and seeing how far tumours have spread -- be purchased. There are only two of the high-tech devices available to cancer patients in Canada. There are about  250 in the United States. "In the United States now it would be regarded as malpractice not to do a PET scan on somebody suspected of possibly having a lung cancer," said Dr. McEwan, who is also an oncologist at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.(Now, if the Liberals had only engaged their brains instead of simply trying to satisfy the hoplophobes, they could have bought over 300of these machines with the money wasted trying to licence and register the guns of Duck Hunters and Target shooters. How Many Lives Could That Have Saved. The problem is, the Liberal Agenda has NOTHING to do with saving lives.)Got A Comment On This Story?
State's new gun law is packing them in
County clerks and sheriffs across Michigan were  overwhelmed with applicants for concealed-weapons permits Monday, the first day of business under a weapons law upheld Friday by the state Supreme Court. (The crime rate is about to drop dramatically in Michigan, just as it has in other states that have adopted 'Shall Issue' laws when it comes to public safety. But up here in Canada, we are deemed MUCH too violent and childlike to be trusted with concealed firearms, regardless of how many lives might be saved. Remember, in Canada, ONLY the police (who 'may' eventually get there to draw a line around the body) or the 'active' Military (who are never there) are truly sanctioned by the Government to carry firearms.) Got A Comment On This Story?
Toronto's Wily coyotes love pet lunches
"There are a lot of coyotes in the city and ... we're quite fortunate to  live in an environment where we can share the same space as they do," White said. "But, whereas it is unusual for a coyote to approach  a human, they will quite willingly go after a small animal, including a pet." (I'll bet the PETA folks have mixed emotions over this..haha..  A simple BB Gun (most are not yet classified as firearms under the law), and a well placed shot to the ass, will usually scare the critters off before 'Fluffy' becomes the evening snack.. But, if your 'almost-a-dog' pet gets snuffed by a little coyote, perhaps you should think about getting a REAL DOG.)Got A Comment On This Story?
Firearms Regulations Amended
(and again, and again, and again.. Their latest 'patch' will make paint ball markers 'firearms', and the game illegal
I don't know WHO advises these people!! It clearly seems like a case of the Blind Leading The Stupid!!))
The licensing phase of the program has been very successful with two million firearm owners in compliance. Those who applied by the December 31 deadline and who have not yet received a licence in the mail are protected under a six-month grace period that is in effect until June 30, and many have received a temporary
licence in the meantime.(Guess WHAT!!! the grace period is over. As of July 1st 2001, this government has turned more law abiding citizens into CRIMINALS than any other country in the free world. WHY? For continuing to  own personal property that may have been handed down from father to son for generations, without paying a financial tribute to the Liberal Government, under penalty of prison and confiscation. A minimum of 5 Million Gun owners owning 15 million guns are now criminals. Congratulations on a "phenomenal Success".. The next election will be the time to Lock, Load, Fire, and finally Eject this Spent Government.)Got A Comment On This Story?
More Guns, Less Crime
Newspapers across America in recent months have reported  increased gun ownership and the lowest crime rate in 30  years - but they never report these two items together. (Ever hear of a Hunter being Mugged, while enjoying the sport? No! Gee I wonder why? Female runners get attacked and raped quite often. Female Hunters? Nope never heard of one being attacked. A few years ago, a local resident looked out of his farm house, and saw his truck being stolen. He promptly picked up a gun and shot the front tire causing the thief to end up in the ditch. He then captured the thief and held him for the police.  The police told him not to mention to the media how he stopped the truck, because he might be charged with a firearms offence. In Canada, you can be charged for defending your property. You may win the case, but it will cost you a fortune in legal fees. THAT is why you don't hear much about the defensive use of a firearm.)Got A Comment On This Story?

Email 'Chain Mail" crashes the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency's computer network
Canada Customs and Revenue Electronic Networks Policy Guidelines specify that "causing  congestion or disruption of networks and systems (for example, by distributing junk mail such as chain letter)" is unacceptable. But the internal reports suggest many employees have ignored such warnings.(The CCRA computers are 'supposed' to be part of the Highest Tech Gov. System in the Country.. I wonder how much of the 'slowdown' at the CFC is caused by computer illiterate employees blindly forwarding hoax emails because they simply don't know any better?)Got A Comment On This Story?

"Remember: guns don't kill people; doctors do."
American Doctors are so concerned about gun control..  Statistics show us that  more people are killed every year by doctor error than are killed by guns. "Number of physicians in the U.S: 700,000. Accidental  deaths caused by physicians per year: 120,000. Accidental deaths per physician: 0.171 (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)."Number of gun owners in the U.S.: 80,000,000. Number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) 1,500.  Accidental deaths per gun owner: 0.0000188. Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. (This is American Data, and the number of guns, and accidental gun deaths is higher than Canada. But the 'percentage' of medical deaths per doctor should be about the same.)Got A Comment On This Story?
