Study Shows Airlines Now Safer For Terrorists
A recent test at Indianapolis International Airport has shown that in spite of heightened security measures, terrorists are perfectly capable of bringing weapons on board airplanes and now enjoy a far safer environment in which to work.  I know… I performed the test.
After being denied entry into the terminal due to my pitifully small pocket knife, I was forced to return to the back of the line, produce my boarding pass and state identification (your papers, citizen?) and go through the security checkpoint all over again with four weapons still in my bag. What did they find this time?  Nothing. Nada. Zip. What did they miss? The same razor sharp  six inch military knife, the same four inch carbon composite dagger, the same four inch steel bladed knife and the same concealed triangular bladed defense
                    knife. Again. Every single weapon went through security without a hitch. Twice.(And this is in the U.S.!!.. Canada's security is much worse, and there will be no Armed Personnel on board the Aircraft 'Except of course a possible Hijacker')

GUELPH - A woman who tore her boyfriend's scrotum during a drunken argument was granted a conditional discharge yesterday. Richard Perry required 13 stitches to close a gash to his scrotum last March. In granting a discharge to Laurie Hagarty, 42, the judge noted she was being assaulted and was entitled to use force to defend herself. Earlier yesterday, the Pentagon confirmed that an admiral and two mid-level generals will now have the authority to order fighters to shoot down civilian planes that appear to threaten cities-- without first consulting the President. The new security measures will also put armed air marshals on all domestic flights, oversee security at the 420 commercial airports in the United States and spend up to US$500-million developing hijack-proof cockpits.  Major-General Larry Arnold, at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, will have the authority to order  the downing of a commercial airliner over the continental United States.  Lieutenant-General Norton Schwartz, at Elmendorf Air Force base near Anchorage, has the same authority for Alaska. Hawaii is covered by the United States Pacific Command, which is headed by Admiral Dennis Blair.(And what is Canada Doing you ask? Well, were supplying Idiots to test their systems... Without armed personnel onboard Canadian Aircraft, it would not surprise me to see Canadian planes banned from U.S. airspace until there is onboard security equal to the U.S. Airlines... BOBCAYGEON - A woman escaped with only minor injuries after being attacked by a bear  outside the southern Ontario community of Bobcaygeon. Police said she was walking her dog  when the bear attacked last night before the dog scared it away. The woman was treated for  injuries to her right arm. A search found no sign of the bear. (Since the cancelling of the spring bear hunt, the entire area has been over run with them. Now theres a group that wants to outlaw Bear Hunting altogether. Its obvious they spent most of their life in the city)
Quebec: Father sentenced and fined after son shoots neighbour (Nat. Post West to east)
MANIWAKI - The father of an eight-year-old boy who shot and nearly killed his neighbour, Jean-Guy Roy, last fall was ordered yesterday not to possess firearms for the next eight years. The man, 38, was also given 18-months probation, a $750 fine and ordered not to drink  alcohol. He pleaded guilty to negligent storage of a firearm earlier this year. (He should be serving the sentence that his son is to young to serve.)

Money used on firearms licensing better spent on defence, MP argues
Considering the weaknesses in Canada's security and military readiness that have come to light following the
Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the U.S., Mr. Breitkreuz said yesterday the money would have been better spent on the Canadian Forces, the RCMP and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.  "Since Sept. 11, it's become abundantly obvious that we need more security at our borders, we need better screening of immigrants coming into this country," Mr. Breitkreuz said.  "We need security on our airplanes, more marshals or whatever, we need all these things that would make Canadians feel a lot more safer." (what we DON'T need is the huge waste of taxpayers money protecting us from 'Duck Hunters & Target Shooters' when we have hundred of unaccounted for potential terrorists running all over the country.)

in Canada. The National Firearms Association says flooding the gun registration system with millions of registration applications as the deadline draws near will be the final straw in what they describe as a
half-billion-dollar boondoggle.  "If everybody waits, which is their legal right to do, then the system is going to go belly-up," says Dave Tomlinson, chairman of the NFA's legal committee.(And the sooner the better)

carry guns, as their U.S. counterparts do, Ottawa instead provided them with billyclubs and pepper spray and authorized the CCRA to enter into agreements with local police to provide more serious back-up. Think about this for a moment. Ottawa believes it is good policy to let potential terrorists into  the country and hope police can catch them rather than give customs agents the ability to stop  them at the border. And in Quebec, the problem is even worse. The provincial police force and the CCRA have yet to reach a policing agreement, which means armed and dangerous visitors don't have much to fear from anybody.(Whether the Liberals like it or not, the rules have all changed. Their excessive paranoia of guns has come from years of politicians that have NO military or or hunting experience. Most are over educated bureaucrats that actually believe they work and function in the real world... Its about time they pulled their heads out of their asses and had a good look around. Canadian Pilots will not be armed
Canada will not be following the U.S. movement toward giving pilots guns and placing armed sky marshals on board commercial flights as a deterrent to hijack-terrorism, David Collenette, the Minister of Transport, said
yesterday. "We're not moving in the direction of air marshals and we're really not moving in the direction of having armed personnel in any guise on airplanes," Mr. Collenette said.(Years of Hoplophobic indoctrination are about to endanger the lives of anyone flying on a Canadian Aircraft. If guns are considered too dangerous, consider, the fact that on Sept. 11th., ONE FIREARM IN THE HANDS OF A SINGLE CREW MEMBER 'COULD' HAVE SAVED THE LIVES OF OVER 6000 PEOPLE. Its time to STOP the insanity, the rules have changed. 
THE REAL COST OF GUN CONTROL!
A few years ago in Scottsdale Arizona, a shotgun wielding robber burst into a branch bank and ordered everyone onto the floor. He pointed the shotgun at the security guard and ordered him to disarm himself and lay down with the rest of the customers. A 76 year old woman pleaded with the robber saying that she was too frail to lie on the floor. She asked if she could sit in a chair over by the desks. The robber granted the old woman's wish, whereby she sat down, clutching her handbag to her chest. When the robber's focus was on bludgeoning one of the bank tellers with his shotgun, demanding more cash from the vault, the old woman quietly withdrew her Smith and Wesson Model 66 revolver and shot the robber dead with her 357 magnum.
 Upon the arrival of the police, she presented the detectives with her Arizona Concealed Carry Permit for the revolver that she carried in her purse.( In Canada, the old woman would have spent her remaining years in prison for carrying a concealed firearm. Canadian civilians are deemed to stupid and irresponsible by our government to be trusted with a gun regardless of how many lives could be saved. If a police officer can be trained and trusted, so can any law abiding citizen. As a matter of fact, CCW law abiding citizens in the U.S. far outnumber the police, and have a much safer history not shooting the wrong person, or accidentally shooting themselves, than do the police.)
Ontario Police report on fighting terrorism ordered
"Make no mistake, we will protect our province and its people," Mr. Harris said as the Ontario legislature resumed sitting for the fall session. MPPs spent their time in the House discussing a unanimously passed resolution condemning terrorism and appealing for tolerance toward Muslims..... 
McGuinty: "Let us not be blind ... to the new challenges we face here in Ontario. We must ask ourselves, just how secure is our province? What if this were to happen here? In the 1980s, this legislature had an all-party committee on terrorism. I urge us all to reconvene this committee so we can work together to put forward positive solutions," said Mr. McGuinty. (This is a strange quote coming from Liberal McGuinty. He is on record for wanting you to be a defenceless as possible by supporting the huge waste of money that is the CFC, and the Firearms act. And, because the CFC is still operating, he STILL thinks taking firearms away from honest citizens who have the RIGHT to defend their home, family, and country in a time of war is a good Liberal idea. The danger to this country is NOT law abiding firearm owners, right now they are a definite asset. While Looking over your backyard fence, and seeing your neighbour is from that part of the world, Don't Blame Him, Just 'Watch Him'.  One can regret this, but really, why bother? The 55% of the population who support the Liberal Party evidently believes it's more important for the state to invest in the Auberge Grand-Mère than in the defence of the realm. Those of us who disagree must respect the democratic will. Canada, after all, believes that it can best project itself as (in Lloyd Axworthy's exquisite banality) a "soft power." He may be right -- as long as Osama bin Laden's boys can tell the difference between Minneapolis and Edmonton. Canada is ill-prepared for a major terrorist attack, lacking everything from vital protective

Chrétien expected to offer military support
The U.S. is also expected to ask Canada to begin high-level talks aimed at co-ordinating immigrant and refugee policies on a continental level. However, Mr. Chrétien has said Canada does not want to compromise on
core values, such as the Charter of Rights and key elements of Canada's  refugee determination system. (By the looks of things, the U.S. may have to incorporate a border system equal to the one they have with Mexico. Only instead of keeping out Mexicans and drugs, they will have to concentrate on keeping out the terrorists that Canada so freely admits... Ottawa HQ security was costly flop, report says
HALIFAX - Military planners badly mishandled the installation of a security system for the Defence Department's headquarters buildings in downtown Ottawa, says a newly released audit. The system was installed two years late, went more than a $1-million over budget and has broken down repeatedly, forcing the military to call in ordinary security guards to fill the gap.(If the Defence Department can't manage to have a 'working' security system, what chance the the CFC have. If this war escalates, Liberal policies are going to cost the lives of Canadians. Why would ANYONE trust the Liberals with the safety of their families and firearms.)

But when you spot him, you're happy he's there because he and one or two colleagues per flight are armed and ready to thwart hijacking attempts.(But, don't look for them on Canadian Flights. War on terrorism could mean deficit
OTTAWA - The government is not ruling out spending more money than it has in order to fight terrorism, Finance Minister Paul Martin said Thursday. (This ABSOLUTELY has to mean the END for the CFC. Running a deficit while pouring money down the toilet make NO sense what-so-ever. Canada has a LARGE number of  Gun Club Members right across this country that are trained in the safe handling of firearms, and most are authorized to transport handguns and other restricted and prohibited weapons. Make use of these people on patrols of community reservoirs, hydro electric installations, Oil storage areas..etc..Trained citizens should be allowed to carry concealed firearms, just like U.S. citizens can. Ressam lived for several years in Montreal, even after his refugee application had been rejected. (Even AFTER he was rejected, the feds let him stay in the country! The United States has every reason to see Canada as its soft overbelly.  For approximately two years, it and Canada have been talking about forging a continental perimeter. Yet our government has taken a go-slow
approach, fearing formal talks would offend nationalist sensibilities in Canada. Recently, John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Elinor Caplan, Minister of Immigration, balked at the idea of a continental perimeter on the grounds that it would offend Canada's political and cultural sovereignty. But what we need protection from is bombs and hijacked planes, not U.S. television and movies. The hijackers of the two planes that flew out of Logan had no guns.  Instead, they smuggled box cutters and knives with plastic handles embedded with razor blades in their shaving kits and in other carry-on  luggage onto the flights. (The ongoing Liberal stupidity of gullibly believing the stories of suspected terrorists, and unknown, un-identifiable, 'Refugees', that take advantage of the poor screening and "Benefit-of-the-doubt" Liberal policies, have endangered the lives of  ALL North Americans for far too long.  Instead of  investigating and persecuting  law abiding 'Canadians' who happen to own a firearm, they should re-direct the same effort (along with the billion dollars wasted by the CFC) to helping eliminate the REAL threats to North America. After the most destructive attack in history ANYWHERE on the North American Continent has been perpetrated without the use of a  firearm of any type, will the folly of Liberal policy now require the registration and licensing of all who own 'box cutters'? Canadians should Beware ANY world government that attempts to turn its 'citizens' into 'subjects' by disarming , or cataloguing them,  for no other reason than the legal possession of a firearm.

Dale Carl Barron was sentenced to 12 years for the robbery and to a further four years for using a gun in the commission of a crime. Ontario Court Justice Timothy Culver also prohibited him from owning or possessing firearms, ammunition or explosives for the rest of his life.(Why ONLY 4 years on the gun charge? He must have had a liberal gun license, or he would have also got 5 years for possession of a firearm without a licence as well. The sad part is, this guy will be back on the street in 5-10 years or less)

Chretien slams 'cowardly' terrorist attacks in U.S., says Canadians safe 
OTTAWA (CP) - Prime Minister Jean Chretien reassured Canadians on Tuesday that the federal government has stepped up security in the wake of deadly terrorist attacks in the United States and offered Americans any help they need. There was no information to indicate a specific threat to this country, he said after conferring with key ministers, as well as the heads of the RCMP and Canadian Forces.  Appealing for everybody to "remain calm," Chretien expressed hope the situation will return to normal as quickly as possible. (Nothing will be 'Normal' for a long, long, time. Maybe if Bin laden sneaks up and bites him on the ass he will realize Canadians are not as safe as 'he' thinks we are. If war comes to this country, lets just hope our enemies will cower in fear of being pecked to death by a flock of  liberal doves.)

Manitoba's Justice Minister promised to bring a resolution to the table tomorrow demanding immediate action by the federal government.(The Liberals DON'T WANT a sex offender registry, and will have to be shamed into funding one. However, Duck Hunters and Sports Shooters are worthy of spending a BILLION DOLLARS on a registry in the completely false name of 'crime control'. It's amazing, considering various cranial capacities, the wind blowing across Liberal ears in Ottawa should sound like a federal jug band)

women of Orlando, Fla., were terrified of being raped,  since 33 women had already been raped in just one  9-month period. After people began flocking to gun stores to protect themselves, the Orlando Sentinel
newspaper got together with the police to offer a firearms safety course.  It was all very well publicized. Everybody knew that in Orlando there was a multitude of women who had handguns and knew how to use them. The result was that in the following 9-month period, there were only three rapes. In addition, crime in general declined. The fact is, Orlando, Fla., was the only U.S. city with a population of over 100,000 that had a reduction in crime that year. (As Criminal Violence becomes more and more common in Canada., Thanks to the Liberals, the words "Unarmed Victim" will become more and more prevalent in the news.)

Children handed pistol licences
MORE than 600 Queensland children as young as 11 are licensed to use concealable weapons and firearms including shotguns. The documents, obtained under Freedom of Information legislation, show that 185,000 Queenslanders hold licences for 525,000 guns  including semi-automatic weapons. The police documents reveal
nearly 13,000 people own almost 28,000 concealable weapons. And the number of licences being cancelled for violence and drug offences has skyrocketed. From July to the end of December last year, the number of gun licences cancelled because of domestic violence orders, violent crimes, drug crimes and poor mental health nearly doubled to 304. (Wow.. Its "Skyrocketed" all the way to 0.16% (that's Zero point one six percent) In other words, 99.84 percent of all gun owners in Queensland Australia, are NOT involved in gun crimes, nor had their licences cancelled !. But, I guess reporting it like THAT, would not sell many papers would it.)

Ontario willing to fund national sex offender registry
TORONTO - If the federal government won't set up and pay for a national sex offender registry,
the government of Ontario will.   Ottawa was cool to the idea of a national  registry following the Premiers' Conference in Victoria last month. But Harris says Ontario is prepared to pay for it on its own. (The Liberals are more concerned with a registry that creates criminals out of  law abiding hunters and shooters, than tracking down and identifying the perverts that prey on women and children. The safety of Canadian children has been, and always will be, a low priority for the liberals. The safety of our Children is simply a pawn they are using in furthering their Socialistic agenda. Why else would they bundle something as serious as child pornography laws in with contentious changes to sections of the firearms act. Three Edmonton protesters who ate their ballots during the last federal election have been  charged with defying the Canada Elections Act.  Marika Schwandt, Michael Hudema and Chad Blackburn are charged with willfully destroying  their ballots. Each protester could face a $5,000 fine and five years in jail if convicted. (Perhaps this offers the soloution for the Northern families unable to buy ammunition, hunt, and feed their families this winter! Indiana criminals prefer to prey on unarmed Ohio
As your neighbor to the west, I agree with Jim Tobin of the Catholic Conference of Ohio and encourage Ohio not to allow residents to carry  concealed handguns ("Concealed-carry bill wins some former opponents,'' Dispatch article, Aug. 16).  You see, for several years Indiana has allowed law-abiding residents to carry them, and criminals know it is a bad idea to attack a Hoosier.  Nothing says no to a rapist or mugger quite like a bullet hole in the chest.  Because of Tobin's efforts and by Ohio's refusal to pass a similar law, Hoosier criminals are aware that it is much safer to do their evil deeds in Ohio.  This encourages our rapists, muggers, mass killers, white-sheeted  bigots, gay bashers and anti-Semites to leave Indiana and move east.  The mass exodus of our criminals helps ensure the continued well-being of Indiana residents -- even those who choose not to carry a handgun (A fast trip across the border to Canada is also going to be irresistible pretty soon)

                  that since 1997 – the year the British parliament passed a  near-total ban on handgun ownership – gun crime in theUK has risen 40 percent. Did that surprise you? 
           Lott: No. When you pass such laws, you basically have law-abiding citizens who obey these laws – not those  who the law is actually being passed for. In fact, such laws actually produce an increase in crime. I’m not sure one can blame the increase just because of the law there, but it is surely not surprising that they did not see a drop in violent crime as a result of it. (The results were exactly the same in South Africa and Australia. Why would Canada be special? Just the fact that our criminals also know that as more and more frustrated older people are giving up guns to the government, the pickings will become safer and easier.)

More than 300 people were in the station when someone set off a canister of tear gas.  Some passengers, and even the transit authority's own security guards, are now raising questions about the emergency plan. (There are no doubt "Hundreds"of gas canisters left over from the HUGE stockpile used against citizens, by our government, in Quebec City. Its only logical that some of these will end up in the hands of  Nut Cases who 'don't' 'currently' work for the government.)

The fact that the Minister of Justice is doing so nonetheless supports the view that the gun  registry is not about safety -- that its only real purpose is to allow the Liberal government to  posture on the side of gun control. Intrusive, spurious personal questions should be removed from the gun licence application forms, and the answers already given by two million people should be purged from government databases.( In Contrast a dork columnist at the Toronto Sun said (Saturday Edition) Any Questions that would have stopped the Quebec 'nutcase' from shooting 14 women should be left on the form. What this dork did not bother to find out, was the nutcase 'had' a FAC, and as such would have answered the very same questions.. Sure helped didn't it...)

Here I am going out to dinner. I grab my purse, keys, cell phone, and am half out the door when I realize - dang- forgot my pistol. What am I  thinking?    That's precisely the question posed by a number of readers responding to an earlier column about two men who were shot recently in my neighborhood. I  said I was angry that I no longer feel safe walking to my  favorite restaurant.
