Debate on Bill C-15 to begin April 26th, 2001.Liberal Democracy
Bill C15, Anne McLellan's Omnibus Bill, has pages and pages of amendments to firearms legislation, and some changes to the law regarding cruelty to animals. This is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 26th. I suppose that by lumping cruelty to animals, together with firearms legislation, anyone opposing the firearms legislation will be (according to the government),
for cruelty to animals..  The Liberal "Rubber Stamp" Democracy at work..

Can you say "panic at the CFC"...sure... I knew you could!!
They Just Don't get it!!! This is how 'out of touch' the Liberals actually are!
They really think firearm owners are not flocking to register because of the cost.

INOCULATING ADOLESCENTS AGAINST THE CRIMINAL USE OF FIREARMS
You know! As hard as this is going to be for liberals, and people who have never been exposed to hunting in their whole lives to understand, the idea expressed in the link above is the absolute truth.
Young men, and boys who have been supervised, and exposed to hunting and firearms in their early teens, generally do not get into trouble with the law. Why, because guns were a common part of growing up for most kids in the 50's and 60's. From the Red Ryder BB gun, to the first single shot cooey fired at summer camp.  Knocking over a few tin cans and being amazed at the hole "going right through", gave boys some understanding of the power a gun had, and the skill that was needed to hit the target.  Whether being supervised by your father, grandfather or a camp councillor, the lessons learned were a valuable part of growing up with respect for the damage the careless use of a firearm could do.
Compare this with today's youth. BEFORE being exposed to the safe use of firearms, they see hundreds of brutal killings on television, and spend hours blowing 'bad guys' and aliens away in video games. When one day, a friend says "hey look what I got" and pulls out that shiny handgun his older brother picked up some place. Wow..  just like the one that guy on "pulp fiction" had, and HE was So cool.  Hey! That was just a movie man. If I shoot someone, it really doesn't look like it did in the movie..Watch!!!!... The rest will be in the paper tomorrow.
Today's philosophy on guns, seems to be the same one used for sex in the 50's and 60's. Keep em Ignorant, Keep em Safe... Sure, we were exposed to violence on TV and in movies too. Everyone got punched in the mouth by Roy Rogers and the Cisco Kid, and most of the bad guys got shot at high noon. What was the difference? Guns were everywhere, every kid had cap pistols, GUNS WERE NO MYSTERY and the hero was always a hero, not just a cool guy with a gun. Kids today are as isolated from guns, as kids in the 50's and 60's were from sex, and it wont matter whether you were young girl, or boy. Remember how exciting 'first base' used to be.. Now, replace 'first base' with a handgun. That's what kids today are feeling, the first time they get their hands on the forbidden object that looks so cool in the movies.
Keep em Ignorant Keep em Safe does not work any better now, then it did then. Except now,  instead of a pregnancy, you get a death. Some trade Eh!

Did The Canadian Police Association Sell Out the Public, and vote politically to support bill C-68 and the Horrendous cost to keep this futile exercise sucking up Canadian Tax Dollars that could be better spent ANYWHERE else? The links that refer to this decision have all vanished from the newspaper databases!!!
If you have ANY Information on this subject, with collaborating links please email me
I, have emailed the police association, and will post their reply as soon as I get it
The Questions I have asked in my email were:
Rumour has it, that last week, the CPA has given their political support and backing to Bill C-68, the horrendously expensive, and considered to be generally useless,  liberal firearms registry scheme.
*  Is this True? and if so:
* Were the rank and file consulted on this decision before hand?
* Did the Association do a political sell-out to gain something else?
* Were there any strings attached to the CPA's decision to put forth their support?

At the Western Canadian Firearms Summit in Saskatoon.  During his presentation, Grant Obst, made the statement:
"It bothers me that the public would not support me in my line of duty.  We've never been at odds with the public before.  This issue has done this."

My final Question: Did Mr Obst, support the public, or this flawed legislation?

Gun Control: The Seventh Paradox
The seventh paradox is the most profound. The conventional wisdom is wrong. Gun control simply does not work as crime control. Case after case shows that when cities, states and nations implement gun control, crime goes up. Washington, Chicago, New York, Australia, Britain: the list is long and getting longer as the seductive appeal of gun control spreads. Criminologists explain that disarming the law-abiding population makes life easier for criminals, who are going to ignore the law anyway.

Britain- From Bad to Worse
Not surprisingly to many observers, the violent crime rate has risen dramatically and steadily since gun bans have been instituted. That's a trend seen wherever strict gun control laws have been  implemented.
And that's the part of the story British officials have tried to keep under wraps.

MISFIRE
Universal firearm registration and owner licensing may appear reasonable in theory,
but in practice the approach manifests a number of serious defects. In addition to concerns about mismanagement, the firearm registration has been criticized for its abuse of individual privacy and property rights.

Here is the Link to the Media Notes: This should be of interest to all, not just firearms owners.
Forward this Media Notes Link to all of the local papers in your area. Make sure this information gets widely distributed.  If your paper does not publish the information, call the editor and ask WHY?

MEDIA NOTES

March 15th/01
The C.F.C. will be making it easier for you to register your guns, Where? on Line where else!! If someone cracks my bank's database, THE BANK is responsible for my money? What happens when the hackers have downloaded the addresses of  millions of gun owners across the country? Will the C.F.C cough up the replacement cost for my property when my firearms are stolen? Will the C.F.C. Repair the damage to my home from the inevitable break-ins? Will The C.F.C. be liable for personal injury once the criminal element knows I have guns in my home? A list of this type would be worth a FORTUNE to those that supply the expanding  firearms black market Fuelled by Bill C-68 and Liberal Paranoia .

IF A DATABASE CAN BE ACCESSED FROM OUTSIDE, IT CAN BE HACKED. AND THE MORE ACCESS POINTS THERE ARE, THE EASIER IT CAN BE HACKED.

The C.F.C is simply trying to find a lower cost way of  compiling a list of your personal firearm property, to facilitate the confiscation at a later date to be announced by the Justice Minister. And, they want you to help by entering YOUR OWN INFORMATION!
You or a volunteer verifier can already be faced with a prison sentence for unknowingly entering wrong information (see Go to jail . . . for registering your guns ).  And,  the sooner you make an error, the sooner you become a criminal. Once you are a criminal, you can't own guns. INSTANT CONFISCATION.

Once all the guns are registered, the licence fees will skyrocket. If you fail to renew your licence for ANY reason, KISS YOUR PERSONAL FIREARM PROPERTY GOODBYE.
