A Universal Resource Phenom
Introducing David Lichtenstein

by Brandi Bard

My Handi-Capable Reporter is using this spot to introduce you to David Lichtenstein, coordinator of the Clinishare Resource Center, which is part of the Clinishare one stop service concept. The Clinishare Resource Center is a provider of information and a referral source pertaining to hard-to-find products and/or services for the disabled or elderly on a local or state, as well as on a national basis. David, who is forty and has Cerebral Palsy, conducts special searches to find accessible transportation services, housing, attendant care, various support groups, usable recreational services, Internet resources, licensed attendant care, home health care and so much more.

David said, "Any information referral specialist who says that they know everything that there is to know about these products, as well as these services for the disabled or the elderly, is just pulling your leg. The idea is not to know everything, but to know where to find it, because resources change on a daily basis, making some new things available now, or perhaps there might be some former things that are no longer available."

David Lichtenstein will begin writing a monthly column in My Handi-Capable Reporter volume 2 issue 6 (July 1997). This much needed and often requested new column will be called RESOURCE ROUND-UP.

In this column, David will not only tell us about new items and sources, but will also answer specific questions submitted by our readers. Let us know what you are looking for and have not been able to find, so that we can forward your requests to David. "The items that can be requested are only limited by your own imagination; if you can think of it, the Clinishare Resource Center can probably find it for you," David said.
