Alan was born June 22, l949, the third child in the very large musical Osmond family from Utah. Alan, at the age of eight became the leader and eldest performer in the original Osmond Brothers Musical Group. This unique musical family got their start in Ogden, Utah and then they were seen entertaining all over the world for years. Alan entertained for 41 years himself. His brother Donny and sister Marie still are often seen on television and the stage. Marie is seen frequently on QVC, selling Dolls for charity. The Osmonds originally founded The Children's Miracle Network. Alan who is called "Big Al", and his beautiful blond wife Suzanne Pinegar married on July 16, 1974. They now have eight sons ranging in age from 23 to 8 years. These sons are now singing together as the next generation Osmonds. They also have one granddaughter Suzannah 7 months old. There are 53 grandchildren in the whole Osmond family, so far. Alan said, "children are our riches". When asked how he and his wife managed to raise six children under eight when they were so much younger. "It's not easy some times, but it's worth it. It makes the parent appreciate the value of each child."

With such a big family we asked Alan if there might be any other incidence of MS in the entire group, and there is not. When Alan was asked what is the purpose of his life he answered, "It is a process, life is a big university of problems sometimes. "I don't except that now since I have MS, I'm just over, it's a test of the family, it's the spirit within. We as God's kids have to deal with reality, God is here and there is hope.

What has improved my health, is my faith and the love and support of my family and prayer. I may have MS but it doesn't have me." Alan and Suzanne live in a beautiful log home near a river and trout stream. They are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), They were married for eternity in the Temple in Provo, Utah. "My family is my life, families are forever, they marry for eternity and change as one forever" he said.

Now that Alan has been diagnosed with MS, and is having a little difficulty with playing musical instruments and being on stage. He said, "when people pay their money to be entertained, they should be entertained. So I am devoting my life to my family and electronic publishing since developing the Osmond web page www.osmond.com. Alan and Suzanne also have a series of children's books that they are writing currently "Twice Upon A Time". These are new stories told not once but, "Twice Upon A Time" finishing the old classic fairy tale children's stories by continuing the story instead of just stopping it in midstream like when the three bears came home to find Goldilocks there etc. There will soon be a new book published about Alan Osmond, this will precede his new Endure To The End rings. What a multi-talented man!
