Danny sits alone at the bar, having his third drink when he sees her, Michelle, standing over in the corner watching him sadly as he downs drink after drink. She meets his gaze without flinching, without looking away. I always loved that about her, he thinks to himself, she could always look me in the eye. God, she is so beautiful. I always loved her hair long and curling like that.
A slow song comes on just then. Danny has this overwhelming urge to take Michelle in his arms, just like he did that night he found out about her betrayal. I just want to forget that, he thinks to himself, I want to feel like I did before that. Not a care...in the world.
Before he realizes what he's doing, he is heading her way.
Wordlessly he reaches out for her.

Equally silent, Michelle accepts his embrace, gingerly finding her place there.
As I drift away

Michelle sighs and draws nearer to Danny. I can't believe we are actually doing this, he thinks.

Michelle begins humming along with the song as they wordlessly sway to the song. Danny tightens his grip even more, pulling her still closer. She offers no protest, just softly moans at the touch of his body. She in turn tightens her grasp on his neck and arm.

Danny sighs. This damn song sounds too much like us to be good, he thinks. It matches my emotions to much. My fears. I don't know how much I can take, looking skyward in a silent prayer.

"Didn't I tell you to shut up? I don't want to talk about it, not even think about it. I just want to dance...with my husband " asks Michelle looking up at him silently brushing away a tear from his face.
Danny smiles tenderly down at her. Okay, he thinks, if you want to forget about it for tonight, I can do that.
