SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Deadlines:
Written submissions (stories and poems) must be recieved by May 20th, 2000.
Artwork must be submitted by June 20th, 2000.
What do we want? The artwork, stories and poems of BSSM:AMR must focus on romance. It is important to note that this is not simply an Usagi/Mamoru romance fanzine. Though we love and encourage you to send stories and fanart of Usagi and Mamoru, we also encourage stories and fanart of the other characters of Sailor Moon. The only absolute must for the materials in this zine, is that they relate to romance and love (not just sex and lust please).
The rating for this zine, as of now, is PG-13, but we are considering releasing a more adult counterpart with a higher rating between R and NC-17. This all depends on the material we recieve from the authors. You may wish to write two versions of your story, one for each rating to be presented in each zine, or, you may wish to write two seperate stories entirely. (Or simply write one story for one or the other). A good portion of the PG-13 stories may appear in the higher rated version. We are definitely going forth with the PG-13 rated zine. We will also release the more adult version, unless not enough materials are received.
A caution on more adult fics (hentai): We must insist that these stories be done tastefully. You will have to use common sense in writing this. Think along the lines of a little steamier than a romance novel without crossing over to hard core porn or smut. We reserve the right to turn down any submissions that we feel cross the line. Same sex relationships (slash) are permitted in the cases of Haruka/Michiru and Zoicite/Kunzite in both versions of the zine, as these stick with what's been layed out by the anime. And please, no gratuitous violence. This is a romance fanzine.
Editors will be the final judge of what is acceptable.
Alternate universes are accepted, but please be aware we expect the characters of the show to be the main characters of the story.
We welcome and encourage new writers and artists. Please e-mail all questions to Miaka at MiracleRomance@aol.com
Submissions must be complete! Please, no works in progress. Please spell check and check for grammatical errors.
We welcome all submissions, but we offer no guarantees that your submission will be accepted for publication.
We do ask that you refrain from posting accepted submitted materials on the internet for at least three months after the release date.
So, what's in it for you?Without you, the contributors, this fanzine couldn't exhist. So, for submitting a story, poem, or illustration (that is accepted for print), you will receive a free copy of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: A Miracle Romance. It's just our way of saying thankyou.
How to submit a written submission: Submissions can either be sent via e-mail or snail-mail, though snail-mail is recommended for longer stories. If you are sending your story or poem snail-mail, please send it on a 3 1/2" disk, as well as including a printed out hardcopy (in case the disk is damaged en route). With all submissions, please be sure that the title and your name are at the top of the document to avoid any confusion. If you plan to illustrate your own story, please let us know, so we know to expect your work.
How to submit artwork: If you are interested in illustrating a story already submitted, please contact Miaka at MiracleRomance@aol.com for more details. Please be prepared to send a sample of your artwork if requested.
If you would prefer to do an original artwork not relating to a story, please e-mail us with the details.
We are also requesting 8 1/2" by 11" illustrations for the front and back covers, which will be in color. Again, please contact Miaka at MiracleRomance@aol.com if you are intersted.
Artwork should be black and white and done in ink or pencil. Some color artwork will be accepted, but please remember that colored artwork is expensive to reproduce. Please contact us before submitting artwork in color. Artwork can be no larger than 8 1/2 by 11".
Artwork cannot be e-mailed, it must be snail-mailed. Please line the package with stiff cardboard, and write "DO NOT BEND" on the outside.
It is recommended to send high quality copies instead of original artwork. If you have no access to a copier, or really wish to send the original, we will return them after the printing process. If you send the original, please send it via a traceable service (FedEx or UPS) and we will refund the costs.
