D-Man's Domain

Hi Y'All. Long time no update. The last three years the Retro-Mutant has been sitting in the back of the fabricator's shop. Since I wasn't in a hurry to get the car finished (See the Garage shelf - project Number 1 and the Fairmont page) it suited me just fine.

However, the time has come for the Mustang to be brought out and a rear suspension crafted. Turns out, the 4 link rear suspension wouldn't fit in the tight confines of the '65 Mustang so a ladderbar set up was used.

Here is the results after two weeks of work: New Pics

I have to say, work is progressing fast on this car but once it comes out of the fabricator's shop, I'll have to tackle the job of installing the fuel, cooling, and electrical system. I also have to do something about the body work and interior. Let's not forget the tires, glass, and gaskets. I need a drink. Adios, folks.

I'd like to say that Willy and the rest of the folks there make an excellent product. Their service is great too. If you don't mind wading through some introductions you can see some pictures here Mustang II Front Suspension This unit came in at around $3,600 but I ordered the polished tubular A-arm and strutless lower control arm option and Ididit steering column, power brake kit, and third gen Mustang 15:1 steering rack. They have cheaper kits available. If you're interested give them a call.
