Editorial
News of the week is the delivery of the first two M A N' s for Stagecoach Oxford. 913-914 S913-914CFC arrived during the week and are presently being prepared for service. From 918 a small number will have BLUE roofs which would appear to signal some return to route branding in Oxford. At least 919 also has a blue roof. Photo opportunities were limited as the M A N's were at the back of the garage and I have included the limited shots available to give some idea. Seating is for 42 or 39 with 1 wheelchair. Standing is for 28 or 35 accordingly.
The Oxford Brookes University contract is being serviced by 516, seen below with some branding and the route number 77A is used. The service operates between the Campus and the City via Wheatley and Cowley. The reserve decker, 551, SCN251S, is also seen below but does not have any specific branding. Again, it being a Sunday, photography was difficult.
One item of interest following our interest in what goes on in Manchester, is the arrival of the first of the ex Stagecoach Kenya Bus Dennis Dragons with Metsec bodies, 680 - M680TDB. This is in Magic Bus livery operating our of Princess Road Garage and has seating for 88. Others are now following. We hope to have pictures shortly.
We hope you continue to like this short section, which will give us the opportunity to comment on the local scene in an informal way. Please Email Malcolm Crowe with any comments.

516 had received some branding for its work on 77A - Brookes University service.
The relief vehicle for the Brookes service is this ex Busways Atlantean

Repainted by Busways before coming south, the decker looks very smart.

Stagecoach of another variety.
Stagecoach Kenya Bus has a mixed fleet including some ERF Trailblazers
with locally built bodies.
Enormous loads are carried and we hope to bring occasional pictures of this fleet. We hope
you find them interesting. (I know its not Oxford but it is a British chassis ! - Malcolm)
and finally we though you might like this shot of coaches
awaiting duty on the
London services at Gloucester Green. No two are quite the same !
