Westfield in the UK have just released a model they call the FW400.
The 'FW' stands for Feather Weight and the 400 refers to the weight in kilograms.
How do they achieve this weight? A carbon fibre monocoque chassis for starters. Also light alloy uprights and calipers contribute.
Motor is 140kW Rover 1.8 VVC and gearbox is a five speed Hewland transaxle located at rear. This combination of light weight and powerful engine results in an awesome power to weight figure of 2.8kg/kW.
Isn't it typical? Just when I get mine they bring out a better one! (Hate to ask the price.)
