Lotus/Caterham/Westfield reference collection
My reference library
The following are bits and pieces of my reference library I have built up over the last several months.
A very interesting book for the construction from scratch of a clubman sports car. I bought this book simply because the temptation to build my own car completely from scratch sounds like a lot of fun.
ISBN 0-85429-976-9
This Toyota reference manual is an essential guide if you plan on using the 4AGE engine and computer. Has all the wiring, self diagnosis codes and usual gumpf on torque settings etc.
Not a big article
J but this little caption out of "Australian Classic Car" 1998 Yearbook (pg102) sums up this little sports car in one short sentence. "Will it ever die?"In this article the Lotus is listed in the top 100 classic cars, as decided by the publisher's team.
A great read for anyone who likes these sports cars. Like all motoring journalist works, this book is full of superlatives that just make you want to have one of these machines.
ISBN 1-85520-330-8
The companion to the above book. While I am building an undoubted copy of the Caterham/Lotus theme - who wouldn’t love the true Lotus 7. The authenticity and soul that only several decades of legend can possibly create.
ISBN 1-85520-329-4
What no picture of a Seven in sight - how did this get here?? Well This was a surprise. I picked up the July 1998 Edition of Unique Cars (E-mail to the editor
mailto:uniquecars@acpaction.com.au)When I opened this edition there was an Australian comparison of a Caterham with a Mazda MX5, and also some news on the latest offering from the ELFIN factory. This was exciting stuff so into my library the edition goes. Thank you Uniquecars. (Not to mention there were two Westfields in the classified section J )
I have put some extracts under the appropriate sections in the
Clubmans section of my pages.
To obtain a copy of this get a back order from
Australian Classic Car site. I have taken a few extracts on my "Sevens in Australia Page".
This banner from a great book listing lots of Classics. The important one being on page30 and 31.
ISBN 1-875973-51-6
A small extract out of the above book.
This is the first pages of the UK Westfield Manual - The sort of stuff essential if you are to build a car!
A useful pair of reference books can be found at this link. Max Ellerys Toyota manual and the EFI Engine Management Volume 2 are essential for those like me who dont really know what they are doing.!!
Ill scan in more covers as I add to the library.
