"Morgan Driver" was a 45 rpm record that was made by members of the German Morgan Club in the 1970's. According to our source, Jurgen Thiede, it was produced around 1978. English version on one side, German on the other. Recorded by the "Paul Morgan Sextet", Wolfgang Huttersen was one of the main principals involved. The song is just over 4 minutes long & is a catchy little tune! Just ask anyone who has heard it! Except the record never had wide distribution & is quite rare.
Around 1994, we attempted to contact the
writer/publisher/"band", for permission to use the song, but were unsuccessful.
We've always liked the tune, as have most Morganeers who have had the opportunity
to hear it. Thus in 1998 we offered the world-wide Morganeer community the
chance to hear it, unfortunately without the permission of the creators.
As a song writer & music maker of sorts myself, I can appreciate the
effort that went into this production. The internet wasn't conceived when
the record was made. I'm sure the creators would welcome this venue for providing
exposure to a lost work.
