        Buckeyes
        Candied Orange Peel
        Peanut Butter Candy

Buckeyes ... These are a Christmas necessity. They make great homemade presents!
        3 lb. powdered sugar
        1 lb. margarine
        2 lb. creamy peanut butter
        2 pkgs. borden almond bark
For this recipe, use a very large bowl. Mix all ingredients except for the almond bark. Shape into balls the size of quarters; chill overnight. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Use a tooth pick to dip balls into the chocolate; let tops uncooked so they will look like buckeyes. This will make about 200. I normally have to double the recipe! Do not make these if you are counting calories!!!

Candied Orange Peel ... This came from Louise Volpe . Her home page is Months of Edible Celebrations.
        8 orange peels
        Syrup:
        1C. sugar
        1/2 C. water
Put peel from 8 oranges in cold water. Bring to boiling point and cook slowly until very tender. Drain and cool in cold water. Remove membrane and soft portion. Put the peel in a syrup made from 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water and cook gently until syrup is evaporated and peel looks clear. Drain on wire cake cooler and dry thoroughly in air.
