Mango pachidi
                                        (Pachidi = thin gravy)

Ingredients :  Raw mango(make sure that it is sour),  water, salt, turmeric powder(1/2 tsp), dry mustard seeds(1/2 tsp),  green chilli(1),  asafoetida powder,  jaggery(2 tsp).

Peel the skin off the mango.
Cut into lengthy strips.
Saute mustard,  green chillies and asaefoetida in 1/2 tsp of oil.
In a vessel,  put these mango strips,  salt,  turmeric powder,  water(1/2 cup) and keep closed on the flame.
The mango will cook within a matter of minutes.
Once the mango is cooked,   add the powdered jaggery.
If it becomes very watery,  just dissolve a tsp of rice flour in a tsp of water and add to it.   This will give it consistency.

Taste:
This dish has a very sweet and sour taste.    It is  considered a delicacy in some parts of India.
