This recipe came from a dear elderly special pioneer sister, Ethel Degruchy. They are quick to make and wonderful to keep in the freezer for unexpected guests. They are also great to serve dinner guests later in the evening with brandy instead of chocolates.

      TURTLES

6 oz. pack of chocolate chips

6 oz. pack of butterscotch chips

1 can dry Chow Mein noodles (or package)

1 small pack of whole pecans

      Optional: 1/2 cup coconut

      METHOD

      1. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together in double boiler or in microwave. Stir together well.

      2. Add Chow Mein noodles and nuts.

      3. Drop by tablespoonful (use teaspoon for smaller turtles) onto lightly greased pan.

      4. Refrigerate until cold, about 15 minutes.

Keep tightly covered in fridge. Freezes well.
