 Change to Hungarian

The Hungarian Folk Music Group KISKORMOS was founded in November 1993. At the beginning, as a Transylvanian trio on stringed instruments, it played a certain type of county music. Later, after having studied and played the music of different regions, it combined some other instruments as well. It had several concerts, took part in dance-house programmes and also accompanied dance groups. Numerous performances have been recorded in the Radio and Television of  Novi Sad.
”The peasant country music, as opposed to contemporary Hungarian artificial folk songs, should be considered as a collective phenomenon of art. While the author of the newly composed folk songs is known by name, one single original folk song had been created by feelings a certain state of mind or sadness throughout the centuries.” This is what the band really appreciates and goes in for.
The aim of this band has been finding out as much as possible about our original folk music, learning it, performing it in its most authentic forms and presenting it in the way that would make more and more people become fond of it.
Their most successful performances have been taking part in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Dance-House Meetings of Vojvodina. Their song is recorded on the audio cassette that was made of the 3rd Dance-House Meeting.
They already have good contacts and friendly relationship with the existing Vojvodinian bands and solo singers, as well as the famous Téka band from Budapest (Hungary). They are ready to meet new bands and play together with them, if required.
