Country Singer

A small town country girl on the first rung of the ladder climbing to Country Music Stardom.
Signed to 4 Star Records In 1955, she gained initial TV exposure on the Jimmy Dean TV Show.

On The Road

Patsy with her first car. The photograph was taken in 1956 outside her home at 608 South Kent Street In Winchester, Virginia
During that year she had recorded a number of songs for  4 Star Records without any becoming hits.

Walkin' After Midnight

A 1957 publicity photograph, taken after she appeared on the "Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout" show in January 1957. There she claimed national attention with a winning performance of "Walking After Midnight", a song originally written with Kay Starr in mind. Whom Patsy also admired.

Puttin' On The Style

In 1957, Patsy Returned to her hometown of Winchester, Virginia for a rousing welcome from her friends after achieving chart successs and being seen on nationwide TV. A welcome visit for the homecoming heroine.

Wedding Day

September 15th 1957. Patsy and Charlie leaving her mother's house in Winchester, after their wedding. Charlie Dick was Patsy's Second husband ( Gerald Cline Was the first )
She met Charlie on April 13th 1956 at a dance in Berryville, Virginia.

Domestic Side

Here Patsy is seen preparing  for dinner at her mother's house in Winchester. The photo was taken in 1958- a quiet year careerwise but joyful as daughter Julia Simadore Dick was born in August. Randy her other child, was born in January 1961.

Decca Recording Artist

Patsy released her self named album in 1957 and sentimentally yours in 1962. Altogether she recorded 51 tracks for 4 Star between 1955 and 1960 and 51 more tracks for Decca before her death in 1963. The Patsy Cline sound was moulded by Owen Bradley at Bradley's Barn Studio in Nashville.

Crazy

Backstage after a concert in Charlotte, North Carolina. The year was 1962 and because of a 6day a week concert schedule she was rarely seen by her young family in Nashville. "Crazy" scored a huge hit for Patsy in 1962 and is still one of the three most played juke box records of all time.

U.S Forces Sweetheart

Patsy records a show for the U.S Armed Forces at Monument Studios in Nashville. Throughout her recording career, Patsy remained dedicated to giving her finest vocal performances, with the result that her recordings have a timeless quality, more than three decades after her untimely  death.

MEMORIAL

A Dedication plaque in the entranceway to The Shenandoah Memorial Park, in Winchester, where Patsy Cline is buried.
The plaque was placed there by husband Charlie, and their Children Julie and Randy, shortly after her death on March 5th 1963.

Still Number One

The Billboard magazine Award for 1957 "Most Promising Country and Western Artist" was just one of the many awards that Patsy Cline won during her very too brief career. The most prestigious came, posthumously, on October 15th 1973, when she was elected to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. More recently, in August 1999, she was awarded her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
