MY MOTHER, MY FRIEND

When a child is born,
A mother is there to carry them.
Keeping them safe from harm.
Wrapped tightly in her loving arms.
As that child grows,
She is there to lead them.
Teaching and guiding,
Always making sure that they are following.
As the child begins to mature,
She begins to follow.
Letting them begin to find there own way.
Always there for guidance if they begin to stray.
Adulthood comes always to fast.
A mother walks beside them,
Ready to lead or to guide,
Always by there side.
You have carried me,
You have led me,
You have followed me,
and you will always stand beside me.
You have been my guiding hand,
My gentle push,
My example.
You are my mother, my friend.
