JUST A ROSE

A rose of red holds so much in heart,
A secret so strong, neither wants to part.
Only the two whom the promise ties
Can dream of sweetness, which on softness lies.

In darkness' shadow, with only a rose,
I dream of yonder, the garden of rose;
As I yearn for my love and his warm embrace,
My heart remembers his dear sweet face.

The rose I held, to me he gave,
A kiss so soft, the promise was grave.
Only his love, so deep and strong,
Has kept me patient, with endurance long.

Even in the darkest night you've held my heart.
The dream I hold, please do not part!
The gates to the garden can never be locked,
Even when I try, when I am blocked.

This love we share is ever so sweet,
Blossoms the more each time we meet.
Though the gates may close and the time goes by,
The secret will forever exist through nigh.
