LOVER'S DANCE

She came to me by candlelight
Hair drawn back and face alight,
With passion unbound she kissed me deep
A love so strong that I could not keep
My voice from crying out.
Emotions soaring, twisting, turning
Bodies stretching,reaching, yearning.
Our lovers dance, consumed by each other
No longer apart, but one with the other
Oblivious to the world.
Our dance continues through the night
A never-ending timeless flight
Of all things beautiful and good and right
We soar 'til dawn breaks with morning's light
The time passed too quickly.
Passions spent, we take our leave
Knowing 'tis but a short reprieve,
For come the night we will dance once more
Like the oceans waves upon the shore
Ceaseless, timeless, evermore.
