Review:

This is the first children's Star Wars novel that I have read. Though I haven't yet, I do intend to read the Jedi Apprentice series. Maybe I'm judging this children's book too harshly, but I though that parts of the book felt very rushed. Everything happened very quickly.

I didn't really like the way Anakin made his lightsaber. Luke, even though he's not the best example of a "by-the-book" Jedi, worked on his for a long time at Obi-Wan's hut. Anakin's process just didn't seem right to me.

But as for the good points: it's a nice, short story. It's neat seeing more interaction between Obi-Wan and Anakin. It's interesting seeing some of Anakin's dark tendencies starting to show. And of course, it's always nice having an appearance by Yoda! :-)

Overall, it's another very good book. I really look forward to starting the Jedi Apprentice books.
