How Wonderful it is to be Alive than to Die!- by June Underwood

When we look into the heavens during the eve,
There are stars, planets and nebulas for us to see.
The wonder of it all as our imaginations soar,
Makes us happy to be alive as we learn more.

Viewing the ocean where there are monsters of the deep,
Swimming at depths unknown where many are asleep.
Realizing there is so much that we don't know,
There is happiness in seeking knowledge to unfold.

Beneath our feet are microscopic animals that burrow,
Keep the soil soft that we can make many furrows.
Planting vegetables and fruits that we like to eat,
And so much more than that the texture is like meat.

Many birds fly through the sky like black clouds moving,
Changing every which way that fascinates like grooving.
Like the clouds above them appear like choo choo trains,
Awed by thunder and lightning that brings chilling rains.

How wonderful it is to be alive than to die!
There is so much to learn that my mind cannot realize!
The changes of the earth, the moon and all the planets too,
Reflecting back upon me that I am part of all this is so true.
