An Ocean Within - by Ink

Me and my mom have been going to an art class once a week for a short time and last night we painted with water colors. I didn't like the painting I painted very much but my mom painted a pretty ocean scene and I wrote a poem about it. Here it is:

I gaze upon an ocean far away
An ocean deep within me lay
In my mind I stand in the purple sand
And a cool ocean breeze touches my warm hand
In my heart I see the water, teal
Just one look I wish to steal
Of the blues in the sky
For this I sigh
Near the water I stand alone
This scene within softens my heart of stone
The purple sand turns to a deep red
The sun is gone, it's down and dead
Slickly it arrives, it's night
My scene within is a pretty sight
The water, teal, turns to blue
The most relaxing place I ever knew
And I open up my eyes
to find my creative heart is full of lies
For I'm alone in my room
To stare at my starched walls is my doom.
