Lies
You professed a love you said you had,
Powerful words were what you did use,
Destined to be, soul mates, searching,
Did you realize that you had lit a fuse?
In love you said, I call it infatuation,
You cannot be in love by never meeting,
Stunned, your words played with my mind,
Briefly, then gone with a mere fleeting.
Not another thought was given to this,
Then you called and changed your mind,
Happy, we were able to be just friends,
Yet minutes later, deceit I did find!
Misunderstandings, we both know better,
A lie was revealed, you added some more,
The fuse was lit, I was ready to explode,
Viciously, I started to settle the score.
A thief of the mind is what a liar is,
How I detest with vengeance your lies,
Caught, you lied to cover your own act,
Lie upon lie were answers to my "Why's?"
Can my trust ever truly be regained?
Friends, do you really feel we are?
Was a lesson learned by all of this?
Are you able to see the unseen scar?
