"PARADISE LOST"

Through one man's story of past,
We see exquisive beauty unfold,
Capturing of minds that has last,
Atlantis, the city of gods and gold.

A life of such cultivated leisure,
It is beyond our modern dreams,
A paradise of wondrous pleasure,
Too good to be true it so seems.

Walls were said to sparkle of fire,
Upon this island was such grandeur,
Fulfilled was every being's desire,
Eventually they lost all their virtue.

So filled with a lawless ambition,
Overwhelmed by their own power,
Brought upon themselves destruction,
Believing they would never cower.

Leader of their gods, so full of wrath,
Angrily brought them to their demise,
Destroying everything within his path,
Never to be seen by a human's eyes.

Is this only a myth or was it reality,
No city of likeness was ever found,
Visionaries will dream for eternity,
Searching for this sunken ground.
