"OUR SEPARATE WAYS"


Do you ever wonder like I do,
What exactly went all wrong?
Are you by chance able to see,
My heart beating to a sad song?

A second chance we both thought,
New beginnings, a fresh start.
Trusting, caring and so loving,
We each opened the other's heart.

Attraction was intensely strong,
And we moved into this too fast.
As the years gradually went by,
Slowly drifting, we did not last.

Frustrations, with resentments,
Hurts with a pain so very deep.
How sadly we have come to end,
This love was not meant to keep.

All we said is now over and done,
Yet we had much that we did share.
Parting, we go our separate ways,
Forever in our hearts we will care.
