Beach Folly
Standing in the tidepool
laughing at the old fool
always staying out of reach
daring him to leave the beach
Waves dance around your feet
lips promise kisses sweet
Yet he dares not leave the sand
will not take your outstretched hand
He turns and walks slowly away
pen clenched tight in hand
Once again finding nothing to say
forgotten all that he had planned
