Dave's New Adventure
Greetings! Can't keep you folks in suspense, but I have given my two week notice at the bookstore and in three months I intend to head out to the great Southwest. Where I don't know - I am looking at New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.
Why do you ask? Leave family and friends behind? Are you crazy?
I won't answer that last question. But here goes. Sometimes life deals you cards, and sometimes you pay attention to them and sometimes you don't. This time I have. The cards were all saying that it was time to leave. A lot of doors have closed in the past couple of months. Relationships with family and friends have changed, some for the better, some for the worse. I honestly feel that it is in the best interest of many people that I move on.
In a nutshell - it was (is) time for a change. It has been that way for a while, but now I am taking it on, for better or worse.
And I am asking for help - no snickers from those people in Reno, Oklahoma City and Toronto. Can you give me some information on job opportunities and housing out in that general direction? Specifics like cost of living, job options would be advantageous also. I loved working at the book store, but it didn't pay the bills. I wouldn't mind a similar job, but the pay would have to be a lot better.
Besides books, my money counting and people skills are WAY above par. Anyone who wants more information on me, I can get it out as quickly as I can check my e-mail and find the floppy disk with my resume on it.
