Similes and Metaphors
Similes : a figure of speech in which one thing is liken to
another, dissimilar thing by the use of like, distinguished from
metaphor, in that the comparison is made explicit.
Metaphor: a figure of speech in which one thing is likened to
another, different thing by being spoken as if it were that
other; implied comparison, in which a word or phase
ordinarily and primarily used of one thing applied to another.
