Monday, May 1, 2000Mark E. Jones, 50, of Parkersburg died April 29, 2000, at his residence.
He was born in Parkersburg, the son of Vance and Joanne Buchanan Jones of Parkersburg. He was an 11-year marine veteran, and was retired after nine years in the U.S.Navy Reserves. He had worked as a truck driver for Sherwin-Williams. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and attended the Beechwood
Presbyterian Church.Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Vance M.Jones of Parkerburg and Burton J. Jones of Grass Valley, CA; one daughter, K.C. Jones of Grass Valley, CA; his Marine wife and caregiver, Bonnie Taylor of Parkersburg; two brothers, Matthew and Tim Jones, both of Parkersburg; two sisters, Deborah Jones of Salisbury, Md and Sahron Jones of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews; and the special caregarivers of House Calls Hospice.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Jones.
Sevices will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Beechwood Presbyterian Church, Pakersburg, Pastor John Koerner officiating. Interment in Masonic Cemetery, Cairo, WV with full military rites. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Lambert-Taatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Mark's funeral was attended by Tom and Kelly Williams of Vermontville, MI and Mike Graf of Vesper, WI. Tom and Mike both served with Mark in Amtracs during the Vietnam War and are members of the Amtrac Platoon. Kelly Williams was representing the members of the 2nd Battalions 4th Marines Association. Mark will be missed by the many that had the privilege of serving with him.God speed old friend and Semper Fi.
