Welcome to my POW-MIA page.   I am a strong supporter of any POW/MIA efforts, and with prayer maybe we can bring those still missing home

Anthony John Peppe

A.J. Pepper was born on Thursday, Ocober 9, 1947 in Richmond, Virginia.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps, and started his tour of duty in VietNam on Saturday, April 6, 1968.

He died that day.  Yes, the same day his tour started.
At the age of 20.

A.J.'s MOS was 0311, a basic USMC grunt.

HIs death is classified as a A-1, meaning hostile casualty situation.
The cause of death was determined to be a small arms fire.
He is also classified as a catagory 5, which means:
"Individuals whose remains have been determined to be nonrecoverable as outlines in the Army Technical Manual, 10-286, 1-64 section 39"

A.J. died in the Quang Tri Providnce, in South VietNam.  The exact coordinates of his death are:
164033N to 1064134E
These points pin point the location to a spot on Dong Tri Mountain in Khe Sanh.

A.J. Pepper has been given the case # of 1120-0-01 by
the US Government.

In 1997, the VietNam Veterans Associaltion Central Executive committee petitioned the VietNam Office for Seeking Missing  Persons pertaining to case # 1120-0-01.
Documents in the Library of Congress state that the remains may lay in the Vinh Phu Providence.

I adopted PFC Pepper for a few reasons.  One reason being that he is a Marine from my hometown.  But the most important is that his body was never recovered and given a proper burial.   His family was never able to really say goodbye.   When you go to bed tonight, remember that 31 years ago, a young man gave his life for you.  Please say a prayer for A.J. and for his family, who to this day, still wonders.
