Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, Inc.

The Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, Inc (GPASI) was founded in 1947. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 1997. The monthly general meetings are held on the last Firday of each month. At each meeting there is a door prize, raffles, a speaker and a livestock plant and equipment auction. Members range from children to seniors and from novices to Grand Master Breeders.

CPASI has very active BAP (Breeders Award Program) and AHAP (Aquatic Horticulturist Award Program) programs. Members get points for breeding fish and propagating plants. These are brought to the meetings and auctioned off each month, along with items that members bring in to sell.

GPASI also has trips to different members' fishrooms, field trips to collect fish that are native to the area, and has had several trips to the National Aquarium in Baltimore.

Jay Angros has been GPASI's president for the past two years and Mary Ann Angros has been the membership secretary in 1996 and recording secretary in 1997. For more information, contact us at angros@bellatlantic.net.
