August 18, 2000 -- Rottweiler Rescue & Adoption, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping find loving secure homes for Rotties in need. They are located in Memphis, TN. For the past 3 years most of the expenses to care for the Rottweilers they have helped has come out of the rescuers own pockets. Due to unfortunate circumstances they are out of funds.
They currently have 10 dogs (one is a puppy) in their care. Just feeding this many dogs can be quite costly. They are in desperate need of help with food and medical expenses for the dogs in their care. They would greatly appreciate anything anybody can do to help. Donations to Rottweiler Rescue & Adoption, Inc. are tax deductable.
If you would like to help Rottweiler Rescue & Adoption, Inc. or would like more information about their organization or any Rotties they have available for adoption, please contact Cammy Mills

How Northern Virginia Rottweiler Rescue League was helped in their time of crisis
" I have been hit with Parvo. As you all probably know I always have alot of puppies. Today a sweet 5 month old female lost her life. We have no funds for treatment. I also have a 14 week old male that was rescued last week end and was a badly abused puppy. This boy had never been to a vet I am sure. After worming him and seeing 8" round worms I would say it safe to assume he had no vaccines prior to entering the shelter. He too has been in this house and playing with the other puppies. The one that died was here for 3 weeks and in quarantine for 10 days prior to me getting her. I suspect the 14 week old that I got in last week may have the virus however, the puppies have all interacted since, he had not shown any symptoms of illness other then being beaten badly. I also have two here that have had 3 vaccines and I hope they will not get Parvo. I am heartbroken over losing the puppy this morning, she was so good and so sweet. I had no money in our funds to treat her. I am now being advised to put the 14 week old on antibiotics for 14 days and just hope for the best. I am in desperate need of donations which may be sent directly to my vet, I cannot save any other puppies should they come down with it. They will die fast. The last little girl lived for alittle less then 36 hours. Please if you can spare anything..."

"While the puppies were in the hospital we got alot of help and I am so
unbelievably grateful that I am afraid I will cry if I really go too far
into how much. We got a couple of boxes and I waited until they came home
to open them. Of course Vinny was here and I did feel alittle guilty making
him wait. Well, we have toys and balls and all sorts of medical supplies
and "blankeys". So I sat in the middle of the floor with the two little
ones that came home two days ago and let Vinny out of his crate so he could
hobble over anxiously and we just sat there and hugs and kisses went
everywhere. I thought about Darcy at the bridge and wondered if she was up
there crying because she couldn't be here to play with all these nice
things. I still miss her. Funny how sometimes one puppy can just break your
heart so much. Chance, the little boy that had been beaten was also having
alot of fun. I was trying to show him what toys were because he obviously
never got to play before he came here. My sweet little puppies. They are
so innocent and now they are alive and happy. I think Chance is here for
keeps. He has taken over my bed. Travis isn't thrilled about the sharing
but he knows Chance is just a baby. Vinny wants so bad to play ball but
his leg is pinned and wired so he can't. His butt is wiggling again. The
other two are so excited! They kept taking things out and poking those
little heads back into the boxes to see what else there was. I cried as I
watched them all. I cried because I was so happy that everyone was alive.
Two abused, two with Parvo, and then there are the healthy ones. What
a zoo! As I sat on the floor I then became the target. Oh boy! There is
nothing that feels better then little puppies wiggling all over you and
trying to pull your hair and clothes to reach your face with a million
kisses of thank you to everyone that has helped them have
Xmas in September!
My real live love story, thank you, all of you that cared.
Judy"
