After I started the very difficult process
of packing up my mother's house
and moving furniture over to my house,
Rufus was always there to cheer me up.
And he is Mr. Curiousity.He had to inspect everything
that came in and he even checked
out the inside of the boxes to make
sure they were safe.
My father used to make
stained glass lamps and Mom
had their favorite sitting on her
table in the livingroom.
The day I brought it home,
Rufus was right there.
I decided to put it
in the livingroom on the diningroom table.
He spent every evening there,
wrapped around the lamp sleeping.
I snapped a couple of
pictures the first day.
I thought they were cute.
In the first he is sitting
under it like it is an umbrella
waiting for it to rain.
In the second he has gotten
up as close to the light bulb
as he dares get and is hiding -
or looking for warmth.
Every time the light was on
he would sleep under it like
it was warming him.
What a funny little guy.
