Guiness and Kathy

Guiness' lived with his previous owners for about three years. He was left outdoors with a Golden Retriever and another dog during a severe thunder storm, and he was so frightened that he jumped the fence and took the other two dogs with him. The Golden Retriever didn't return, so the owner blamed Guinness and decided to get rid of him!!

"What a shame - but it's to my benefit, because he's such a wonderful, loveable boy. And he wuvs his mummy! I hug & kiss him all the time and talk to him - and he is so happy, I can tell. And so am I....."

- Kathy Thompson

Guiness was rescued by the Irish Setter Club of Central Connecticut and the Irish Setter Club of New England. These two clubs were directly involved in securing Guiness' foster placement and providing financial support while he was in rescue care. The dedicated individuals doing rescue for these two Irish Setter clubs have been responsible for 60 Irish Setter rescues in 1999. They are doing a great job!

Guiness was fostered by Katie O'Keefe, NH and placed by Nancy Connor.
