April's Redneck Brewster Boy

Brewster was our first Shar-Pei, and the sweetest baby! We adopted Brewster in 1988, and to our dismay, Brewster was stolen later that same year. We never found Brewster, but we pray that he had a good and happy life. We still think of you often, little Brewster Boy.

Neel's Molly has My Heart

NM443644/01

Marty and I were devastated over the loss of Brewster, and waited 3 years before adopting another Shar-Pei. Molly was our Valentine's Day gift to each other in 1992. Molly was a silly girl, and a total joy! Molly died in 1998, of Mast Cell Cancer. Her Congo Red Stain (the post mortem test for Amyloidosis), was negative. Below is a picture of Molly at 6 months old, playing tug'o'war with Dudley. Thank you for the wonderful memories, Molly!!

Talmadge Neel's Silver Sadie

NM485721/04

Sadie entered our lives in 1993, and was the epitome' of gentleness and patience. Nothing ever upset Sadie, and she was never in a hurry. Even though Marty and I have never been blessed with human children, Sadie loved them all! The picture above is of Sadie with my cousin's child, Alan. Sadie went to live with Alan when they were both 2 years old, where they became partners in crime! In May of 1998, Sadie went to sleep, and died in the night. We will never forget your gentleness, Sadie.

Neel's Dudley Do Behave

NM422424/05

When Molly had been with us 5 months, we decided to get her a playmate. That is when our beloved Dudley entered our lives. Dudley was the calmest, laidback puppy ... a trend that he continued into adulthood. "Mr. Dudster", as we called him, was diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer at 4 years old. After an almost 6 year fight, Dudley's cancer was finally too painful for him to bear, so we gave him peace on June 16, 2001. We are forever THANKFUL that God let us borrow Dudley, but it was terribly hard to give him back. Our hearts are broken. The result of Dudley's Congo Red Stain was negative. Below is Dudley napping on the sofa with Molly, when he was 5 months old. Sleep well, Mr. Dudster ... we will forever love and miss you!

Ape's Little Bigun

Bigun was one of the 2 boys in a litter that was born to Peisley on 1/24/02. Bigun had a personality so sweet that when you kissed him, you'd swear you tasted sugar. Bigun grew quickly, as most puppies do, and as he grew it was obvious that he had a deformity of the chest. After several trips to several Veterinary Specialists it was conclusive that Bigun's flat chest and concave sternum were putting too much pressure on his little heart and preventing his lungs from working properly. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but on 4/13/02 I saw Bigun off to the Rainbow Bridge ... he was awfully small to make that big journey, but I am confident that the older dogs that were already there showed him the ropes. Bigun, I am so sorry that your life was so short, and I hope you know how much I Love You still!

Jewel's Neel's Mocha Noel

NM450023/02

Noel was a very unique dog. Noel was loud, rowdy, mischievous, obnoxious, and nearly drove me insane before she was 2 years old. Noel was also confident, friendly, adorable, and the smartest dog I have ever been honored to have in my life ... I love her MADLY. Noel adored people, knew no strangers, and after Molly's death was Dudley's constant companion. Unfortunately, Noel was also an epileptic, and it was complications from a Grand Mal seizure that forced me to release her from her tired body to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Noel left me on 5/11/02, and I will never be the same again. The results of Noel's Congo Red Stain were negative. Noel and Dudley are together again, doing what they did best ... being lumps on the sofa.

Ape's Tweeter Tweeter Mo Meeter

Tweeter was one of the two male pups that was born to Peisley on 1/24/02. Tweeter had quite a few problems, and had to be bottle fed, therefore he thought he was a human! Tweeter was my tiny Love ... he was only 19 pounds at 8 months old. Tragically, Tweeter died under anesthesia during surgery on 9/7/02, and has left a gaping hole in my heart. Only God knows how much I will miss my Tweeter.

Laremy's Harlequin Rose of AFP

AKC#: NM858065/02

Harlie entered our lives on a tense night after her flight to us from California was delayed. Her breeder, Laraine Bogoje, of Laremy Kennels, and I were so relieved when Harlie finally arrived! My first impression of Harlie was just how striking her black and white spotted coat was! Harlie was a beautiful girl, both in looks and spirit. Harlie had a serene, unassuming, quietness about her that endeared her to our hearts. She had no idea what a stranger was, and would give the softest little kisses to anyone who held still long enough. Poor Harlie was plagued with Familial Shar-Pei Fever (FSF), and Swollen Hock Syndrome (SHS), both very common and devastating maladies that affect many Shar-Pei bloodlines, and was never bred. In February of 2004, Harlie's eyes told Marty and I that she had been fighting for long enough, and we saw her off to the Rainbow Bridge. We miss you Harlie.

Wapast's Blu Masked Zorro

AKC#: NM909415/03

Zorro came to us from Claudine Stevens, of Wapast Shar-Pei. What a bundle of energy! If I had a nickle everytime I had to correct Zorro or take something away from him that he was chewing, I would be rich beyond belief! (Big Grin) Zorro was a BIG boy for a Shar-Pei, and thought he was a tiny lap dog. He was such a loving boy that it was truly difficult to stay angry with him! Zorro left us in May of 2004, in the same accident that took Skye from us. Our home is far too quiet without this rowdy boy.

Neel's Cloudy Blue Skye

AKC#: NM698236/02

Skye was a pick of the litter that I had coming to me from a breed agreement from her sire, Wolfongs NitroBlu Neel. To be blunt, I had no intention of taking the only Flowered puppy out of that litter, but when I saw Skye, I could not tear my eyes away from her. I kept trying to turn my back to her and choose from the other puppies in the litter, but Skye would not be ignored. In the end, I obviously chose Skye as my pick, and she stole mine and Marty's hearts. As she matured, Skye was of such good conformation that I chose to be a rebel, and breed a Flowered dog (a no-no), and to breed her for Flowered puppies. In 1998 Skye and her boyfriend Howard gifted me with not only my first blue litter, but to my delight, Flowered pups were in the litter also! Skye Baby, you opened my eyes to the beauty of the Flowered Shar-pei, and fulfilled my wildest Flowered dreams in your one and only litter, and I Thank You. More importantly, you brought Marty and I such joy with your sweet, unconditional love. You are the only dog friend that I have ever known that gave actual hugs with your paws, and I will miss the feel of your paws wrapped around the back of my neck for all eternity. I am so sorry that you and Zorro had to leave us so suddenly on that hideous day in May of 2004. You and I will hug each other again someday at the Rainbow Bridge.
