Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, Canada is ideally
situated on the rolling parklands of southeastern
Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 400
and a diverse trade area of mining, mixed farming of
livestock, crop rotations and close to the city of Yorkton
Bredenbury is serviced by trucks and buses on a
main Trans-Canada highway, the Yellowhead Route Hwy #16
between Winnipeg and Saskatoon.
Bredenbury offers a quiet lifestyle with all the amenities
of a city, with EXCELLENT water and clean air.
We offer K to 8 education levels, sports and recreation
facilities, all within a half hour drive of a small city,
Yorkton.
The major employers in the area are IMC Kalium
(NorthAmerica's largest Potash producer) and CPR Railway.
There is also a railway car cleaning plant and a fertilizer
plant located in Bredenbury.
Bredenbury is situated in the thick black soil zone of
Saskatchewan. This layer can be 15 cm (6 inches) or greater.
There are very few limitations of which type of crops can be
grown. Cereals- Oil seeds, pulse crops and spices are very
adaptable to the area.
The rain fall in the growing days of May to September
average 28.0 cm - 33.2 cm. Average snow accumulation is
105 cm. The average high temperature in the same growing
period is 20.84 C.
The only crop weather hazards are hail and an early or
late frost.
The Bredenbury area has several registered seed growers
and seed processors capable of cleaning to export standards,
pea, lentil, canary seed, cereals, pilseeds and spice crops.
Crops can be marketed at near by elevators within a
radius of 30 miles or picked up at the farms by semi trailer
trucks or hauled directly to a rail car.
The area is suitable for livestock production and situated
near markets for Dairy -Beef-Hog-Broiler or Egg laying poultry.
Exotic livestock such as Llama, Ostrich and Emu, Wild Boar,
Buffalo and miniature cows and horses are also raised
successfully.
