Jobs were far and few in between, a
personal relationship gone bad and a general feeling
of despair.
A friend could sense that I was troubled and suggested a local church.
This wasn't just one of your average down the street
places of worship; this was a fellowship church where you sang and Praised the
Lord.
I can remember the first time I walked in. A little reluctant, to say the least.
A few members came up to greet me and before long, my fears were replaced with a sense of calm and warmth.
Before long, I was really with it, singing and Praising The Lord, thinking how glad I was to attend.
Things went well for the next few months. The foot-stomping, hand clapping Praises filled the little church and I couldn't help but feel better about myself.
One member informed the group her house was in a state of disrepair and asked for help. I found a new can of paint I really didn't need and brought it to the next service.
Things were never quite the same after that. Doing unto others certainly has it's rewards.
Pastor Jerry and his wife Pastor Ann, were the driving forces in this church. Part of the service was to have a question and answer forum.
As Pastor Ann was conducting the forum, one member asked, "Pastor Ann, is it really necessary to Praise the Lord the way we do, with all the clapping and singing?"
The answer Pastor Ann gave to this young lady I shall always remember.....
