Chapter Fifteen

…I'm cold and I'm ashamed bound and broken on the floor
                            You're a little late, I'm already torn…

Anabella just stared at Brian. She felt sick to her stomach, wishing to God that she had

never met this man, never even gotten involved. She looked up at the blonde woman,

Leighanne, was that her name? God she had just slept with another woman’s husband,

oh now she felt even worse.  She needed to get out of there the room was suffocating.

Without another word, she turned around and walked out the door.

Brian flinched as he heard the door slam, his head in his hands he began to cry.  Softly at first, with the tears flowing more and more.  Leighanne turned her head, disgusted by his show of emotions over this girl.

“Please Brian, I should be the one crying.  Afterall, I found you lying in a hotel room

with another woman. And, she’s not even that pretty!” She scoffed.  “ Her hair was a

nightmare, and her clothes, please!”

“Get out.” he said it low, menacing.

She rolled her eyes, “Please Brian, I’m not going anywhere.” she sighed.

“The HELL you aren’t!” He suddenly stood up, his eyes bright, “ I don’t know how to

make this any clearer Leighanne. I DON’T WANT YOU IN MY LIFE. I don’t want to

SEE you; I don’t want to HEAR you. And I certainly don’t want anything to do with

you! You are no good for me and it’s taken me almost four years to figure that out!”

Leighanne stood, shocked by his accusatory words.  She had never seen him this angry,

never.  She didn’t know quite how to respond.  “Brian,” she tearfully whispered, “I still

love you, don’t you still love me? Just some tiny bit of you that still loves me?”

“God Leighanne, don’t you get it? When you killed my child, you killed my love.”

“God, how could I have been so stupid!  Why didn’t I know he was married, duh

Anabella, I mean come on.  Did you honestly expect this to be so whirlwind fantasy

relationship like in the movies?” she stormed down the hall towards her room, flinging

her door open and slamming it behind her she leaned against the cool wood, “ I mean

even in fairy tales there’s always some obstacle to overcome.”  Slowly she made her

way over to her bed, and flopped down face-first.  “All I ever wanted was the love that I

knew would always come to me.”  She made a face. “I’ve got to stop quoting myself.”

Leighanne stood, gazing at Brian in shock, “What are you talking about?” she laughed

nervously, “ Your child?”

He glared back, “Don’t play dumb with me. The abortion clinic called me to make sure

you were all right.  Yeah you’re fine I see.” The disgust was evident in his voice.

She sank onto the bed, “They called you.” she whispered.

“Yeah, how could you Leighanne? Our CHILD! Our own flesh and blood, GOD!

WHY?” he spat out angrily.

Leighanne was now in tears, “Brian, I didn’t want to, I almost didn’t it’s just that, I was

offered a part in a new movie, and we haven’t talked about having kids in awhile and I

really wanted this part, Brian oh please forgive me.”

“I don’t know who you are anymore.  I can’t be married to somebody I despise. Get out

of my life Leighanne, it hurts too much to even look at you.”
