Hi everyone! I started putting this page together in my head
while I was in Hawaii. I never thought I would get to go there, though my husband and I had talked about it a few times. The fear of flying kept me from really seriously wanting to go anywhere by plane. But a few years ago, I realized that I had to give that fear to God. I knew that He would take care of me and if I had the opportunity to go, it would be a blessing.
Well that opportunity came this year. I was invited by my
Aunt Rosie to attend a Women's Christian Conference held in
Honolulu. And without giving it much thought, I said yes.
Now that was a big step for me. I am a planner by nature
and like to know as much as I can about something before I
say yes to it. Everything fell into place for me. I had the
money, work gave me the time off, and my husband gave me
his support. I always thought we would go together and someday
I hope to go back with him and our kids. But this time I would
go with my Aunt, my cousin Joanie and my sister Terry. This
would be a great way to celebrate my 45th birthday because we
left on the 13th of August, the day after my birthday and
Joanies birthday was the 6th. I had lunch with my parents a
few days before my birthday and besides giving me a beautiful
birthday gift, they gave me money for my sister and I to go to
the Polynesian Cultural Center and for spending money.
We were ready to go.
My husband dropped us off at 6:00 am at LAX and we met the great people
from New Life Family Fellowship of Santa Ana. 24 for uf us were ready to go.
It takes 5 hours to get to Honolulu from Los Angeles. I really enjoy the take off
and the time went by as we talked and ate breakfast, Now remember,
I am a novice at flying, so bear with me if you are an expereinced flyer.
Well up in the sky at 32,000 feet high going almost 400 miles and hour,
I could only thank God for allowing man to defy the law of gravity and fly.
Even the pilot on the flight back said it was because of the Lord.
Well it was really wonderful to pass other islands as we approached our
destination of Honolulu, on Oahu. The water was as blue as the pictures I had
seen, The landing was very smooth even though it had been raining.
