Our Marriage Group

We all attended an annual Christmas party in 1996.
Some of us knew each other, but this was our first
time together. During the evening, Paul suggested
we all get together at another time. Our Pastor
had suggested that people get together in small
groups at each other's homes. So on 2-22-97, we
met for the first time. We had so much fun that night!

What makes a group is their committment to work on
their marriage and to meet for regular gatherings.
We meet once a month. We have done different studies
and used videos also. Every three months we go out
somewhere. Our favorite outing was diiner at the
Crab Cooker in Newport Beach and then sitting on
the beach sharing and praying together. Cliff is the
facilitator for our group. That is the main person
that leads the group. Debbie does our newsletter.

At a New Years party 1998, held at Paul and Cynthia's,
we shared how our group has helped our marriage, and
we really had bonded as a group. Other couples wanted
to join a group.So Cliff and Debbie took names and now
we have 14 groups. Some of the groups have gotten together
to go to larger Marriage and Family Conferences. As our
church grows, so will our groups because we are dedicated
to letting God be the head our homes. Nobody is perfect,
but we love and serve the One who is.
