Overview: Family Lycaenidae
Family Lycaenidae is one of the larger Families, and is represented in all
parts of the world.
The members of this Family are, for the most part, the smalles in the world.
However, even though small, their beauty would compare to that of the Morphos
of Africa. With metallic blues, greens, reds, purples, and yellows, this
this Family makes up what it lacks in size with color.
There are three main groups within this Family. The Hairstreaks, The Coppers, and
the Blues.
