Family Libytheidae
Overview: Family Libytheidae
Family Libytheidae is the smalles Family of butterflies in existance,
of which I am only currently aware of 10 species, which are all
included in a single Genus.
Although the Family is small, it is represented almost the world throughout.
Members of this family may be easily distinguished due to overly developed
palps, which make their appearance from above seem like the wings are
sprouting from the center of the butterfly's length instead of from the
thorax.
