Charles worked for approximately 40 yrs in the Queensland Railway and progressed through many positions from ganger, shunter, porter, signals, fork lift driver. Because of his work in the railway, the family moved about often, but the majority of his life was spent in Bundaberg, Townsville and Mt Isa.
Charles in terests were fishing and gardening. He also liked his sport, especially football and cricket. He showed a great interest in the sports his kids were involved in, swimming and basketball, often umpiring many of the basketball games. charles was also a member of many clubs in his life time: Bundaberg Mouth Organ Club, Rowing, Tennis, Swimming and Bowls Clubs.
Charles had a quite nature, he had a mind of his own.
His loved ones held a very important place in his life. He was a family
man. His wife Doreen, his children, his grandchildren, his greatgrandchildren,
he loved very much. His newphews and nieces also had a special place in
his life, many of them lookin upon him as a father figure. Charles is greatly
missed by his family and friends.
